Ok once we get this figured out we need to watch his behavior and see what he does w/ the adjustment- is he eating?
He is eating yes, he’s not been super interested in his greens but he’s doing dusted Dubai’s just fine. There’s been a few days he’s shown little interested and hasn’t eaten as much but he’s had a large BM the next day so I’ve assumed he was just gorged. I’ve not been concerned about his eating of bugs just his interest in his greens. Going to get a different variety from what have been feeding him (kale spinach mustard greens) and maybe get some fruits for him to try. Some more squash too. I have some liquid calcium from a previous vet that is good until the end of the month as he was once low on calcium we thought. After giving him the supplement he was moving around fine again. He now has the ability to move around when he wants and does often outside of his viv, but doesn’t barely move a muscle inside his viv or if he’s chilly outside of it. Anyways, temp reading coming soon keep you posted. Thanks again.

And I mention the liquid calcium in case you think we should treat for this at some point. Not been giving him it past what the vet recommended.

Ok no more spinach please-- I am going to post a nutrition website for you and some websites for worms etc and some tips to lure him to the salad bowl- since you have the Arcadia uvb you shouldn't have to give calcium d 3 as often if at all but w/ the way it was placed he's not been getting that d 3 from it-- so I would give him that at least once a week and regular no phosphorus calcium once a week and since he's not eating his veggies like he should give him vitamins w/ beta carotene- insects for a year old dragon should be 2-3 times per week- fruits should be fed once a week or so too much sugar especially blueberries- your uvb has alot to do w/ the lack of eating- he cannot absorb the calcium w/ out it-

Thank you very much I will definitely study up on the resources you provide. Yes I didn’t realize he was getting such a lack of uvb from that bulb being blocked I feel just awful. I think I’ve been giving him a few too many insects as well and probably just overall he has a lack of nutrients I am hearing. Thank you for your advice and help.

Ok not sure if that is accurate if it is it's too hot- you want temps 95-100 for him please get a digital probe thermometer- zoo med found at PetSmart or Petco- you will know if it is he won't bask there long- shut the 75 watt off- see what the temp is then but please get 2 of the digital probe thermometers

Try a 150 watt if the 175 is too much which 112 is too hot- but see what just the 100 watt is giving- you want those probes those are the most accurate- watch his behavior the next few days - in the meantime I will get those websites posted in the morning for you-

Should I get the digital probe or a laser temp which would you prefer. I will use the 100 watt tomorrow and get a reading and order 150 is it’s not sufficient. Thank you

IR guns are good for spot checking but you want the probes they are the most accurate- IR guns will not read off of hammocks and certain materials- I use 3 different temp gauges-- probes - IR guns and stick ons they are good for ambient temps-- if you do not have a hygrometer I recommend a digital probe hygrometer I am going to post a website for one tomorrow

Wonderful I will get the digital thermometer you recommended in the morning and look into the hydro meter as well. We have a few that go inside of his viv but I’m not confident they give accurate readings as all three say something different. Thanks again have a nice night. Beardie is all tucked in

How are the temps this morning? Here are some websites for you -
www.duiaroaches.com most people get their roaches from here - they nice horn worms these are a hydrating worm and grow really fast - you can feed these every day 1-2- I would order medium size- they have super worms as well this site https://flukerfarms.com/crickets-live-feeder-insects/ has the best super worms they will come in a tube you will need a container w/ holes or a small tub w/ the bran they eat you can find that on ebay or amazon cant remember where I got it from - google bran for super worms- you can use carrots for hydration or potatoes-
here is a link for a hygrometer https://dubiaroaches.com/products/exo-terra-digital-hygrometer?_pos=1&_sid=ac857912b&_ss=r place this on the center back wall of your tank it should read the whole tank
http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html kale is a great staple feeder so ignore what it says
https://reptilianarts.com/ this place did have nice silk worms I have not ordered from them for a long time they also have roaches and super worms and meal worms -- its been awhile since I got silks - they are a great staple insect but expensive and are a good break for the dragons
https://www.tcinsects.com/product/large-silkworms-for-sale/ I have not ordered from here but heard they had nice silkworms -- I was on there and shipping is really expensive
//www.coastalsilkworms.com this place has two sites for silks west coast and east coast
last time I ordered from here which has been a really long time ago I was not happy w/ the worms
http://www.mulberryfarms.com/ this place is really high on shipping

Order some BSFL you can get them from dubia roaches they are called nutri grubs there order large ones they are calcium enriched so dont dust them --- a great staple feeder use as many as you want - I used them for lures to the salad bowl when Blaze was a baby - you will need a bowl like this or similar to keep them in https://www.amazon.com/MACGOAL-Rept...uGQB&pd_rd_wg=tLkwE&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_d
Rinse your salads before serving that will give the dragon moisture
Drop the BSFL in front of him onto the salads it will get his attention I think I used like 20 of them I did not use them as my main staple I used dubias -- when they were small they stayed in the bowl - I also used the BSFL to hand tame him -- try that and see if you can get him eating more -- silk worms are good to use as well as they stick to everything so if you put them in the bowl hes going to get some greens along w/ it --

Thank you so much for this very comprehensive list of nutritional information for my guy. I will study up on it tonight. Today he has been sitting under his basking spot for most of the day but the temperature is much better and now is in its proper range. I am a bit worried as he’s sitting far from the uvb and want him to soak up as much of that as he can. I’ll include a pic of the set up currently. Surface temps are 105° in his basking spot.

This is how his set up is looking. He looks a bit happier but has been sitting here all day and only ate half his salad.

His surface temperatures are definitely much better now and he is comfortable on his basking spot again finally. Thank you so much I feel so silly but I am glad for your help. Hoping he will become more active with this new lighting set up and basking temps adjusted, and some more nutrition in his diet. What do you think?

He will go to the light he needs --- my UVB is not over the main basking area but I have a 2nd one set up in the middle of my tank where the UVB is in front of the 75 watt basking bulb- temps in that area are 90's - get a temp where the UVB is at and see what it is -- he should be fine -- he will go sit under it when he needs to - just watch him- also you might want to get some decor that gives a gradient heat -- like this
this piece gives gradient heat temps I use two of these in my two tanks - I have the long stick part on the floor of the tank and the big thick trunk piece under the basking lamp --

Ok what you can do is open up the end of the tank screen so the very end is opened and place the UVB going width wise across the tank instead of length wise that way hes getting both UVB and temps -- when are you replacing the tank ?
