    Use a plastic tub from Walmart. Get egg crates from Zelwin farms online, 70 crates for $30. I originally got my dubia starter colony from dubideli.com. I have thousands now and will never need to buy roaches again. They are very easy to breed and take care of.

    I think you're right about aspiration which seems to have led to a respiratory infection.. About a week ago in the bath he drank quite a bit of water, few days after that is when we noticed a difference in his behavior, not eating and black throat and tail.

    Crickets

    Their tails will also get dark if they are stressed. Our male does not like to be held, you go near his enclosure and his neck and tail get very dark. He even hisses at me and flattens out in defense.
