    Is this Spring Fever??

His new enclosure comes with the reflector. I had read that it was beneficial so ordered it with his set. I should have had the new set-up weeks ago, but the COVID situation has delayed things a little bit. So on it's way! It's not out of the realm of possibility that a bird spooked him, but...

    Is this Spring Fever??

So my 3 year old boy, Nigel, is displaying behavior that may be perfectly normal but is a first for me to observe. He’s my first and only beardie. New Behavior: His appetite has fallen off a cliff and he’s not even interested in his most favorite of treats - horn worms. He hasn’t eaten, or...

    Help! Struggling to poop

Warm bath + the vet's recommendation of .5 ml of mineral oil managed to dislodge a very hard block of poop. Hopefully that's the blockage to whatever's backed up behind it, but so far after a couple of hours nothing else has moved. I was terrified of a prolapse from all the pushing, but so far...

    Help! Struggling to poop

My 3 year old beardie is really struggling to poop and looks to be impacted. He is straining and pushing, but can't release. I don't know if it's stuck urate or what. What can I do to help him?

The great dubia escape... a cautionary tale

I will say, as much as my skin still crawls when handling them, I GREATLY prefer them to crickets. Crickets are stinky and they can jump. These dubias are almost sad, they are so harmless. My disdain for them is inexplicable. But, well, it is what it is. That said, I will always feed mainly...

    Weekend Enclosure

We have a baby beardie who will be 3 months old over Labor Day weekend. We've been invited to the coast for the long weekend and will be gone 4 days. It is a 3-hour car ride. We want to take him with us because he's still a baby and we don't trust him in the care of anyone else at this point...

    Morphs, Colors and Health

That was really my frame of reference coming into this discussion - dogs. I have a Doberman and when researching the breed I come across kings, warlocks, albinos, blues, etc. These various dilutes and genetically out of standard dogs were a mess, both in temperament and in health, but lousy...

    Morphs, Colors and Health

In the ever-daunting research phase of adding a beardie to the fam, I have come across many breeders selling a TON of different morphs and colors of dragons. What I've had a little trouble discerning is if these genetically modified animals suffer for it. Does the breeding of certain morphs...

    Oven clean pet store wood?

i bought a really nice piece from a reptile store but I'm noticing a faint smell of cigarettes if I smell it up close. The store owner was a heavy smoker. Should I bake it to eliminate the smell? Or soak it? How best to treat?

    Keeping Dubias without a colony

In your picture I see the dish of greens and other food, is there bedding or some other kind of substrate in the back near the egg crate? Do you have to do anything for water or a humidity source? I live in central Texas. The ambient temp where they would be housed will be in the upper 70s.
