Oven clean pet store wood?

i bought a really nice piece from a reptile store but I'm noticing a faint smell of cigarettes if I smell it up close. The store owner was a heavy smoker.

Should I bake it to eliminate the smell? Or soak it? How best to treat?

Cigarette smoke is the worst to get off of anything. I brought some clothes home from my parents house that smelled like smoke. I ended up throwing them away because even after a few washings it didn't go away. I would clean it with vinegar and rinse and let it dry in the sun or in a well ventilated space and see if that works. Sometimes just letting it air out helps the smell go away.
