Hi Sadie,
We purchased the products recommended by Tracie on her site. And stopped the antibiotics. We are discussing wether to keep the current appointment we have only because the possibility of surgery but honestly leaning more towards just getting a new specialist right away. There was one more in our area( on the website) . i began the manuka again and I will let you know what happens. I cannot thank you enough for your quick responses, your help, and your time. You have honestly been so much more caring and helpful than our own vet.
Thank you again,
Jessica
I am so sad about your girl and I am hoping for the best outcome for her -- see how the other vet is on the website - I would try and do a phone consult w/ them before bringing her in explaining everything you have done so far and what is being recommended -- unless its quicker to get her in -- but she does need immediate care -- how is the UVB going? This is very crucial for her --

Thats exactly what we are going to do. We are trying to resolve the vet situation first then will work on changing the tank set up and lighting, since my husband has to do construction to reconfigure . For now we do have an extra uvb bulb besides the solar glo bulb In the tank. Unfortunately we were highly misinformed when given this lizard for our son, we have done SO much research but are still learning and find a lot of contradictory information out there. Have found some good resources recently and we are doing our best to try to fix everything we can.

In order for her to fight that infection she needs the correct lighting --- UVB is extremely important for her to be able to do that --- incorrect UVB will also cause other issues --- health skin etc -- what is the extra UVB and where is it at ? NO coils

Hello Jessica,

Oh you ordered from our site, ok. What is your
last name & I can check on it for you.
Aloe is very good for healing, yes. I would cut
the baths out right now, since water tends to
encourage fungus to spread some.
I can't blame you, I don't like giving up easily
either. It sounds like she has fight left in her so
definitely fight for her!
I am glad to hear you stopped antibiotics that
should help out a lot right now.

Let us know how things are going. I am so
sorry she is having so much trouble.

My husband is researching them now, I think he said he found someone on YouTube who was very knowledgeable about the lights. But I’d love to hear your recommendations also. Thanks

Here are 3 that are the most recommended ---
24" for a 40 + gallon tank
Zoo Med https://www.petmountain.com/product/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-high-output-terrarium-hood?variant=40651 this will come w/a 5.0 bulb good for tanks 30 gallon and under you want this bulb
22" https://www.petmountain.com/product/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-100-uvb-high-output-bulbs?variant=40630 this one can be found at Pet Smart you want the 24 watt 12% bulb
or this one you want the 2 ft or 24" please change the bulb out to the one posted above the Reptisun
let me know what you order and when you get it so I can help you get it placed for your tank -- the screen is going to determine placement and distance

Hello Jessica!

Ok, thanks. It is late here but I'll check on your order.
Just checking in, seeing how your dragon is doing.
Sadie is very knowledgeable on lights. We can all help out with that for you too.
The high output tube UVB lights are excellent. The Arcadia or Reptisun are both
very good. We can help with placement for you.

Thanks Tracie & Sadie,
she is actually looking good in a lot of respects. I’ll let you ladies know what happens after my appointment with vet. We are working on ordering the light. Thanks for the update on shipping I’d have to check with my husband for the email.

Hello Ladies,
I just wanted to let you know we have seen a HUGE improvement in Nom Nom. A large amout of the infected scales has been coming off and revealing new skin underneath. We feel like it must be the fact that we stopped the antibiotics. We know we still have a long way to go but this is very encouraging. We started the probiotics & silver gel today. And are still waiting to receive our new light from Pet Mountain. My husband and I really cannot thank you ladies enough for caring.

Hello Jessica,

That is excellent news to hear! I am anxious to see new pictures, when you get a chance.
How is the silver gel working for you? I agree, the antibiotics will make yellow fungus much
much worse. So, stopping them right now likely has made a huge difference in the skin's
condition.
Keep us posted on her!

We are still waiting for the light, just curious what we need to know. It’s the 24” light we ordered from pet mountain. The way our enclosure is we are going to have to mount inside enclosure.

It needs to be directly over the basking decor piece -- did you order the Reptisun 10.0 bulb as well - that fixture will come w/ the 5.0 bulb ? take that bulb out and use the 10.0 bulb -- 12 -15 inches over the basking decor piece - you can hang w/ long plastic zip ties - picture wire hanger-- 3M velcro fasteners -- or fishing line --

Hi Tracie,
The Silver gel seems to be working but we saw some big improvements using the fresh aloe leaf juice. I’ve attached a picture. I know it still looks really bad but there have been chunks of crusty black scales that have fallen off and revealed new skin below. Not scales just skin, but it’s not bleeding or anything. Her behavior has also improved she is even less lethargic. She does still have pain in some of spots and we are still giving her pain medication the vet gave us. Love to hear your thoughts if this is healing or encouraging?
Thanks
