I made a new cage, 48inLong x 24inWide x 18inTall, so about 90 gallons. I want to use a MVB because mounting my fluorescent light will be a pain for uvb. I also want something more all in one and simpler. Does anyone have any recommendations for a Mercury Vapor Bulb? Like wattage or what brand? And how far to put it from my Girlie Korn?
U can use the powersun it emits UVb and heat but it can be deadly!!! It has to b 15incjes away and it’s too overwhelming I use it when I place my Beardie outside of his cage on a cat bed to look out the window and I pms e it high. The best is Reptisun T5 10.0 And ZooMed basking bulb. No colored lights ever and pure dark at nite with no Lites.

You don't have a fixture? Just the bulb? I will give you a website go look here
www.pangeareptiles.com- I would consider a 24" fixture w/ a 22" Reptisun bulb--- it's going to be cheaper -- exchange your 34" for a 22" bulb--- look under fixtures then T 5 bulbs- if you need more help ask
Hi David did you get the fixture ordered and the bulb- last I saw they were out of stock for the 22" Reptisun- if you got the fixture but not the bulb you can go here and get the bulb

And ZooMed clear basking bulb. NO colored bulbs ever it burns their eyes and he needs uvb ASAP. Try local pet stores but most have the T5 which doesn’t emit much uvb. A dragon needs light and bright to thrive and be energized and this Reptisun needs replacing every 6months.

And buy the ZooMed clear basking bulb. NO colored bulbs ever it burns their eyes and he needs uvb ASAP. Try local pet stores but most have the 5.0 T8, which doesn’t emit much uvb. A dragon needs the 10.0 T5 So his tank is light and bright to thrive and be energized and this Reptisun needs replacing every 6months.

Well truthfully, I have a 100watt basking bulb from zoomed, clear of course. My new cage I made is 48L×24Wx18H or ~90gal, should I get a higher wattage bulb, or if I can keep the basking at 101, the mid range around 87 and the cool side around 77, just keep the one I have?

Yes that’s exactly right and yes the 100watt should be good;) in the winter if temp at nite drips below 68-70 then get a ceramic heat emitter and place it on the side he sleeps on maybe to the right or left of his body cuz it gets very hot. That’s for warmth and it emits no light;) Beardies Like it dark and quiet at nite.

Ok the 101 temp is good but you want middle 90's and cool side 80's during the day-- temps at nite nothing below 65 - mid 70's- you can try raising your decor piece- if you go to.a higher wattage make sure you have a digital probe thermometer to get temp

Sadie please read up on Beardie care cuz your info is a bit off. Cool side is not 80 that’s maybe the middle and the cold/cool side should be about 72-75
