I made a new cage, 48inLong x 24inWide x 18inTall, so about 90 gallons. I want to use a MVB because mounting my fluorescent light will be a pain for uvb. I also want something more all in one and simpler. Does anyone have any recommendations for a Mercury Vapor Bulb? Like wattage or what brand? And how far to put it from my Girlie Korn?

The tank looks nice you can get a Solor Glo they are pretty good and I would get the 125 watt - distance should be 13-14" from basking decor -- however it is recommended you also have another UVB as well - the output is not as high for all in ones so we always recommend another UVB as well - you can set it up in the middle of the tank I would recommend a 18" fixture for a T 8 -- Reptisun 10.0 -- they would make a nice addition to the Solor Glo -- you want the T 8 inside the tank w/ no cover over the bulb it needs to be exposed and distance should be 6-8 inches from basking decor - T 8's need to be changed out every 6 months ---

Okay, so I have a reptisun 10.0t8 its in a 30in reflector, can I leave it just like this, along with the MVB?

You can but if it's the same length of tank I would cover the half on the all in one side--- do you have a distance of 6-8 inches?

Its only about half the size of the enclosure, and from the flourescent bulb its about 12 inches, which is why I want a mercury vapor bulb, so I can get closer, without having to modify my tank.

For a T 8 12 inches is too far- 8 is tops- he's not getting much UVB especially if it's on top of the screen T 8's are not that strong and the screen is going to block 30% of the rays-- your going to need a stand for the mvb it needs to be unobstructed and if you get a solar glo 125 watt your going to need to be able to lower and higher that bulb to.get correct basking temps- or any mvb you get -- there are good ones and bad ones stay away from repti glo+-- I can post some info on UVB's tomorrow for you

I have a stand and a dome already! And yeah thats why i wanted a MVB, because this one I have now isnt going to work. It worked in her last cage. Not this one though, so ill go by petsmart and grab a mvb 125 solarglow, they have them in stock, my dome is rated for it as well.

Ok basking distance is 13-14" make sure you have a thermometer to take temps

Why would it be too hard to mount a t5 fixture in it? I made a crossfire 4x2x2 enclosure that is similar to yours and easily mounted a tube fixture

I would just attach a 2x4 across the top of the tank and mount the tube fixture to the bottom of it

That would work you can adjust the basking decor accordingly under it

Depending on the screen -- if its wide holed screen like a dime basking decor needs to be 8-10 inches below it -- if its a fine mesh screen like a screen door it needs to be inside the tank approx 12-15 inches directly above decor piece- the screens block 30 % of the rays

So then what fixture should I use? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DCTN9QY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thats my bulb. I am so confused on the fixtures.
You don't have a fixture? Just the bulb? I will give you a website go look here
www.pangeareptiles.com- I would consider a 24" fixture w/ a 22" Reptisun bulb--- it's going to be cheaper -- exchange your 34" for a 22" bulb--- look under fixtures then T 5 bulbs- if you need more help ask
