I got some more crix in today and decided I would document just how much and how fast they eat. I put one very large collard leaf in the tank and let it be for 2 hours. By no means is this scientific just fun b/c I am bored out of my mind while sentenced to limited activity and lots of rest. Needless to say I am going crazy so here you go....

Wow, I feed collard or dandelion and cut potatoes and can't get more than 8-10 days out of crickets, typically more like 4-7 days.
Any tips or hints?

Is it cold where you are? Ive seen this with my crickets. In summer they last really long . . . 2-3 weeks No problem.
But now its winter and eventhough I have them on heatpads as our house gets really cold at night they die quicker. They only last about 5-7 days now

So temps are important for them. They breed slower / grow slower and die faster

Now for your snow question...
Cape Town
Bloemfontein and
Lessotho gets snow often. We get stuck with the ice winds and black frost
Out outside temps in winter are average 2C min and 25C max (Thats 35F and 59F)

So yeah, it gets cold here. House temps in the morning have gone as low as 1C / 33F Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That is so cold in the house. It is now confirmed...I am a spoiled American that can not live without my indoor climate control. It stays between 73-76*F year round
