Our Rescue has a little bump in her belly -an egg?

This is my week of ailing beardies, ugh.

So we rescued this pretty little girl two months ago. Her name is Scuddles. Someone left her in a shoe-box in front of a pet-store I get my crickets from. I talked the owner of the pet-store into letting me take her home. People think she is about 2 years old, but she is TINY -possibly stunted. She's the size of a fist. Anyhow, not much background on her, clearly. She eats CONSTANTLY and consumes everything; greens, fruits, insects. She runs around non-stop though. Never wants to be in her cage. When she runs around, it is manic and non-stop. Similar to a dragon ready to lay eggs. Yesterday though, I felt a little lump on her belly. It almost feels like an egg. I cannot feel any others though. I constructed her a lay-box, but she has not laid anything. At this point I am thinking it is one of three things: 1.) an egg. 2.) impaction (not likely though because she eat/poops every single day). 3.) a tumor :( . Can anyone shed some light on what they think this might be? I'd like to hold off on visiting the vet immediately, as I am unemployed currently and it would contribute to even more financial stress. If I need to take her though, I'll just have to. Please advise?

haha she IS fat. She is only 6 1/2 inches from tail to vent, and like a little ball. The pet store employee said her previous wonders must had fed her a lot of mealworms because she had what looks like "a lot of mealworm fat." She has slimmed down a bit in the last two months, but she's still a little pudge-pudge.
Your baby is beautiful by the way, Eric. That looks like one proud beardie.

Is it normal of beardies to lay just one egg? Man, I hope it is an egg..it sounds like the only thing that would be good, as opposed to my other thoughts about what it could be.

This is Scuddles and the box her previous owners put her in when they left her in front of the pet store. I just happened to be being crickets at that exact moment that they were taking her out of the box. So it's hard to say what's going on with her. We have no history on her.

yeah, ALOT of mealworm fat! aha! the thing is though, the dragon in my picture is my younger brothers... lol he bought one to! im getting the pictures of lily very soon hopefully! and will be putting them as my picture and posting them here!

Yes having an egg is wonderful, i have not bred dragons, but my friend is a breeder, she's given me 2 eggs so far, i've had lily since a baby and shes doing well, for my younger brothers dragon, zelda LOL is doing good to! his is a male, and lily is a female and they dont get around good, even though i knew that... we can walk them around the house and sit in the sun together, our beardies are doing the best they can in their tanks!

hope its a egg!

Zelda and Lily -love the names! Yeah, eggs are fun. In 2004 I went through an accidental breeding experience. I watched SeaHorn come right out of the egg. Kept him because he was the most yellow..like his Dad. Kept a disabled sister of his too. I had a complete beardie family -Mom, Dad, and two of their offspring for years! Cornchuch (Dad) passed away in 2009, but everyone else is still kickin it.

Bill, she poops twice a day. Like clockwork. She has the biggest appetite I have ever seen on a beardie. I have to really watch her when she is out because she will eat anything. She eats good stuff too though; lots of greens and her protein (crickets 1x a week).

crap. I was really hoping it was an egg.

The lump is not visible, I can feel it though.
Impaction is ruled out because she is pooping, right?
Which leaves me with the thought that it could be a tumor. :(

well, if you think about it... they did leave her out.. i have no idea... you have 2 beardies that you are concerned about. i wouldnt think about tumors, and where is it exacly? is it directly on her stomach? or just by the vent? im thinking it could be the bumps to tell if its a female or male? i dont want to talk about a tumor because i dont want to see a dragon go :(

me neither, Eric. The little lump is just left of her lower belly. Feels to me, the way an egg feels.

hmm, did the box have a phone number? it shows in the picture a number, if you could... try to phone them and see if they breeded her because it could have an egg, if they took other eggs if they did happen to breed and they thought the eggs were gone? so perhaps they didnt want the mom... its fine if you dont want to phone but you could find out by the owner..

I wish. That number is the pet-store. It would solve a lot of my questions if those people had left a number. But naw..
