Yes I did buy the probe
She seems more active already
Is this even possible ?
I will place it in now
What did you put in? You should notice a difference right away w / temps and the correct UVB-- what are you placing in now? If you need help w/ the UVB let me know please

please take the probe set it on the top shelf under the light-- 10 min or so it does not need to stay there you can use two sided tape and tape the reader to the side of the tank wrap the wire around the reader when not in use it will also give ambient temps --- now you want to unobstruct that UVB you can use wire hangers to hang it in the tank 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor piece or take the screen off anyway she will go to the light she needs --

Your UVB bulb needs to be changed out every 10-11 months - you might want to mark your calendar

Ok did you get the digital probe? Your screen looks to be a fine mesh can you post a pic of it from above please-- if it's a fine mesh like a screen door- it will need to be unobstructed placed directly above the basking decor 12-15 inches
Hi we got the probe this is the tank this morning
Is it too hot perhaps or too close to the lamp ?

Yes its too hot what is the wattage of the bulb? Hes sitting down to the temp hes comfortable so get the temp where hes sitting -- did you get the UVB unobstructed?

It needs to not be blocked by the screen -- fine screens block approx 30% of the UVB rays -- get some long plastic zip ties or picture wire hangers and hang inside the tank -- get a piece of basking decor directly under it 12-15 inches

OK, that makes sense. Thank you. Are you saying she needs a basking area under the heat and then a separate one under the UVB that makes sense

If possible get the two as close together as you can -- if not she will go to the light she needs -- what was the wattage of the bulb you are using now and did you get the temp where she was sitting on the rock?

We lowered her basking hang out so she’s not as close to the light
Ok that is about in range 105-110 see how she does w/ that temp- the temp is what starts digestion - UVB is what helps her absorb / synthesize the calcium D3 shes getting - this will prevent all kinds of health / scale issues etc -- are you dusting her insects?

ok let me know her behavior -- you will see a difference in appetite etc -- she will adjust to her tank and surroundings more quickly w/ this all on par -- she should be getting D3 5 x per week ONCE per day/ feeding lightly coated on her insects and a vitamin w/ beta carotene 2 x per week ONCE per day / feeding lightly coated on her insects --- this will change when she turns a year old

This is great information can you give me a little more specifics about her diet? Right
now we’re just feeding her the bugs does she need greens? We’re not giving her vitamins just the calcium dusting.
I’m so disappointed with the place where we bought her they really didn’t give us enough information

They usually dont-- get some multi vitamins w/ beta carotene dust as I posted- she needs a fresh salad every day - I will get some websites posted for you for nutrition and a bowl that works good to keep bsfl in- those are a great salad lure and great staple for babies

Yes please let me know what to get to lite for the salad
http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html ignore the kale info its outdated
https://www.amazon.com/MACGOAL-Reptile-Ceramic-Leopard-Bearded/dp/B084VJJWTV?tag=exoticpetnetw-20
www.dubiaroaches.com -- get small superworms please use 1-3 every other day on her salads
https://dubiaroaches.com/collections/black-soldier-fly-larvae-for-sale I would go w/ some medium size do not dust them they are high in calcium -
Feed around 20-25 BSFL on the salads first thing in the morning - if she eats them too fast they will come out undigested -- then feed your main staple insect after she has had time to eat these and some salad - her main diet is the insects but you want her eating some of the salad - ratio now is 80 % insects 20 % salad
you also want a digital probe hygrometer placed on the back center wall - you can look on Amazon for the Exo Terra brand they have it but its spendy on this site https://dubiaroaches.com/products/exo-terra-digital-hygrometer
