i need something that can deal with higher temps. these reptile branded ones didnt stand a chance

Well the brooder hoods are ceramic and are ran 24/7 so worth checking into. I love them for my heat lamps for my dubia colony

further looking into it, turns out the wires are what dont stand a chance, theyre only rated for 302°f and a 75 watt basking bulb gets to 350°+ where a 150 watt CHE (what i have) gets to 500-600°f so it makes sense as to why what happened did happen

I really wouldn't put them together, even for a short period of time.There is just too many unknowns with parasites and personalities etc.

i ended up finding an extra dome that i had and got a CHE over his tank with a temp controller. hes a lot happier now
