Thanks for letting me know. I just haven’t seen it happen to him before.
I got two responses from the vet tech and this is what she said
I guess I didn't see her arm clearly enough. If she feels it could be
fungus, she could try raw honey nightly on it, to help with any issue,
or an anti-fungal cream daily.
Ok, that sounds good. I'm glad the vet decided to finally put her dragon
on Allopurinol. Let me know which antibiotic is given for the staph type
infection.
When she has a copy of the blood test, try to send it over.

I can send a copy of the blood test! What should his diet be now that he has gout? How many crickets should I feed him a day? How many times should I offer vegetables?

Ok I will get this sent to the vet tech
Here is her response

Crickets are fine to feed, with gout, but try to keep the number
of insects weekly limited to 25 or under.

I"ll try to take a look at the blood tests this evening.

He is 9 months old if that effects the number. Thanks!

I will check on age
Here is the response to the cricket question
If she is having trouble with gout, etc but is under 1 year, they can still keep it
to 25 or under weekly to help control the uric acid levels.

Here is Tracies findings on the lab work

Her blood test results don't look too bad.
The uric acid levels are higher than I like
to see, at over 7mg/dl.
Hopefully the Allopurinol will help her out.
The AST or liver enzymes overall look fine
as well so her liver looks to be functioning
optimally.
The calcium is higher than what I like to see,
unless it is a gravid female developing eggs.
The ranges throw off the calcium to phosphorus
ratios. She isn't having any metabolic bone
issues thus far?

No she has not I have gotten her multiple x-rays and as I know of haven’t seen any signs of mbd. I gave her her first dose of allopurinol today. The one question I have is what is beta staphylococcus? My vet did research and she says she can’t find much info on it for bearded dragons. She said that it might be becouse of human contamination. Please explain?

Here is the answer about the beta infection--
That is just a strain of staph. Is it inside the joint capsule?
That is good the allopurinol dosing went well. I"m glad to
hear there doesn't seem to be any bone issues thus far!

She said she could see bacteria in the fluid she draw to look for gout. What medicine would you recommend putting him on with Allopurinol. I do not want to use baytril again becouse of her reaction.

My Beardie is a runt. After 4 years he is only 13 inches head to tip of tail. I was wondering if it is safe for me to get female baby. He doesn't mind being handled. I don't know if introducing an adult and baby is safe. Any thoughts from anyone on this topic ? I just want to get him a friend. [email protected] Mike
Please no !!!! Your baby may end up dead or severely mamed- dragons are a territorial and are only kept together for breeding purposes! Please start a thread so I don't get threads confused

Here is the response to your about the meds
Well, they could try AZT or Azithromycin which is helpful for septic arthritis
which goes hand in hand with gout & gout symptoms..

Ok, I will talk to my vet about getting him on that. The Allopurinol seems to be helping! I was wondering if this is stuck shed or somthing else on her back?
