No worries, that is peel and stick from dollar store no wood, or rock that wasn't bought at pet store or sterilized its only peeled away since i lost poor stumpy and I realized rusty likes looking outside. I keep meaning to fix the edge, and my hubby is making anew top, from wood and the screen, should keep heat in better and my cats from falling in.
I thought it looked like decor but didn’t know for sure! My bad.

I glad it's fooling ppl . The bottom split might be what you mean, it's just heavy cardboard with same stick stuff, i left a ledge in case i added some sand or substrate for him

If and when you add substrate add as close to 6 inches of substrate if you can, I only did 4inches and its not enough for my girl and i wish i made the clay higher….

Hello all,
My question because I'm new to dragon owning,
Rusty my male fully mature dragon NEVER eats his greens like ever.
Today i took him outside because he seems very restlessness, digging and glass surfing,
Put him in a Sandy spot by garden, and he starts eating grass leaves all kinds of stuff, i grabbed what i could away from him and gave him dandelion leaves i could find, what do you know he eats them, keeps eating them and keeps foraging for more.
Should i put live plants in his tank?
He has 120 gallon tank, that's pretty new as well and i think he might be little disturbed by all the changes, question actually is, will anything he could have got in grass today, be harmful, should i stop letting him in the garden area?
Thx guy's

He should be fine, but dont let him eat grass in the future though, its kinda impossible for them to fully digest it, and or offers no nutrition, there’s better things he could be eating, definitely get him some plants , mint is a nice start, or a hibiscus plant, most succulents are safe, get cheap plants cause hes gonna destroy them.
Decided I'd add a recommended substrate for Rusty, he spent the morning getting his dig on, was fun to watch

What substrate did ya get him? And where does he normally sleep? If hes choosing to sleep on the substrate you may need to put down a dish rag so he’s sleeping on that and not breathing in his substrate all night, its okay to has different kinds of substrates , even semi-dusty ones , but it needs to be in the right implementation, hes a cool looking dragon.

He sleeps on his basking rocks mostly, they stay warm after all lights go out.
The girl i get my super worms from, also sold me the sub.
It's a coconut husk blend, it did seem lighter than sand, but since rusty is almost a senior, and won't eat krickets she said he could digest any he might eat by accident . But i am watching him carefully.
He still did his glass surfing, but when he was digging his whole body got in on it lol
I think after some time he will enjoy that side, i will put a towel under his hide in case he decides it's lights out time in there, thx

In the future, personally I wouldn’t take any “shops” recommendation even if u trust them, the substrate is totally fine! Dont get me wrong, impaction is less of an issue (impaction usually happens from bad husbandry (i.e. the wrong substrate, not giving the dragon proper vitamins supplements, not bowl feeding) the issue will be him breathing it in cause it is so light and floats around, now bearded dragons Do close their noses when digging, but not at night obviously when their sleeping in it, just monitor him, as long as hes not sleeping on it i dont see an issue, if I may make a recommendation though, add a handfull of sand, dead leaf litter. Some bark off of a tree, other plant matter (only dried though) and maybe some dirt/clay and spray it all down with a little water and mix throughly, this will help “knock down” some of the dust.

That's great advice,i defiantly will add to the substrate.
And i dont deal with pet shops! This girl is a breeder, rescues beardiies, and sells live bugs twice the size and 1/2 the price.
Her first advice was don't add substrate!
But i wanted something, she gave me this nut sand said she wouldn't sell me it except rusty is full grown and

OH and he is super cute dude ❤️

That's awesome, I've noticed my guy digging, and would love to do bio, but I'm such a noob at the dragon thing and Rusty is pretty happy most days, I'll wait till my next dragon i think but dig box I'm going to offer him and some real plants for sure
I am new fairly new as well, but did this....hybrid-active. I know I will have to change out plants on occasion. Of course I have two huge bags of Terra Sahara and the ground coverings now doing nothing.

Yes i kinda got these guys by accident, but they just fascinate me now, so mother of dragons for life i think
I hooked up with this girl because of old owner, they both were very helpful in beginning, but now i find myself always searching for information on adult beardiies, all stuff i read usually pertains to juveniles or, young adults, I'm pretty sure Rusty is over 13 yrs old, he tells me what's what with his care ❤️

Hubby threw away bag, but yes I'm sure it was a almond coconut walnut blend its very fine but I've been watching for dust in the rest of tank, don't see much around, i think the label was dessert mix for bearded dragons not sure the make
