I measured it at 15" to the ground - she generally hangs out on the hammock that is at the far left or in either of her hide boxes, everything else (ramps, bridges) are thoroughfare lol
Ok so how far from the basking spot--- you dont want it closer to her basking spot than 12" -- she wont stay under it long if its closer than 12"

At the moment, the old 5.0 UVB bulb is still there with the CHE - so the hammock sits closer.
When the basking bulb arrives, should I set it lower again?

Ok so 5.0 is good w/ 6-8 inches-- when the 10.0 bulb is installed distance needs to go to 12-15 inches so lower the decor-- ok basking bulb are you talking uvb bulb or heat bulb?

Heat bulb
Oh ok I was talking about the UVB --- if your getting correct temps w/ where it is now DONT move it -- if its too hot raise it if its too low lower it if possible but not less than 6 inches --- if you cant lower it then get a higher wattage bulb --

Thank you - this is comforting & yeah this group is rad. I've been reading and learning so much from member experiences that have been super helpful.
The stamping of one of their legs or arms is sometimes their way of telling you to stop what you are doing to them. Mine stamps his leg if he splashes water into his eyes when he is getting his bath, so don't worry he is just communicating with you. They can be funny little things at times.

Oh my gosh, wow - it makes total sense. She does try to communicate with me the best way she knows how. Ugh my heart melts over her so much. I just want her to be safe and healthy.
