Please take it off the back wall and place downward so the rays are being reflected downward -- it needs to be directly over her --- use this it works great its like a Velcro strap cut into strips then wrap around the fixture https://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-15-ft-Cable-Ties-Hook-and-Loop-Spool-Black-10375/304220195
or take the screen off and have it sitting width wise over the basking area ---- make sure you have the distance I have posted --
This is how her cage opens on both sides it opens like that there is really no where to mount the light to shine down from above or maybe I'm confused but I've posted some pictures of her whole set up and of her bridge hopefully u can see her sleeping there is where she spends most of her time

The screen is metal and attached to the lid is doesn't come off I'm not sure how to cut it. The only drop down is the middle bar where the cage lids open this is my dilemma and I didn't know what else to do as far as the light my dad mentioned bricks but i dont want them to fall on her

What should I put for her to snuggle into?? She would like a little cloth be ok or something like that? She naps ALL the time in me and always snuggle into my blanket or sweater or even crawls into my bra
A soft piece of fleece can be put in her hide- something w/ your smell on it or a piece of soft clothing- but you must get her off those wood chips-

Take the screen that opens over the basking area off- or open it leave open and place the uvb width wise over the basking area

Just fresh salads unless you want to add some bsfl- www.symtonbsf.com order large feed as many as you want DO NOT dust the they are calcium enriched-- I would adjust basking temps to 95-100 - use the probe thermometer

So I've only owned a bearded dragon since a little before the summer and pretty much everything petsmart told me has seemed to be wrong so I'm kind of teaching my self based on watching ROSIE and getting to know her since not all dragons are the same and have the same preferences right...? Well rosie doesn't move around much in her tank and crawls to the very top of her bridge right below the lid of her enclosure (or she hangs out in her wood at the bottom of the baking area) these are the only two places she hangs out... I've been watching the thermometer inside her tank (it's a cheap one I guess obviously not to exspensive recommended by petsmart) and the temp never goes above like in the 80s granted the thermometer is not up top near the baking light ...but I feel like it's not warm enough for her? The top of her enclosure is metal and the "screen" is metal... could this maybe be blocking heat from getting into the tank? Please help?? I've attached some photos to help explain the lid situation ..if this is wrong any ideas what I can do to fix it would be awesome Thanks.
Hi we rescue and rehome and yes Petco gives all the wrong info!! The tank is super dark u need proper UVB which is the Reptisun 10.0 T5; it’s a long tubular bulb & the length u order should cover 70percent of the tank; without it he will have little to no energy, lethargic, seizures, shakes & won’t be able to eat leading to MBD. Also get him a hideaway to hide when needed. Also for heat you need a clear basking bulb; the best is Zoomed. Never ever use colored or coiled bulbs. The food/water bowl needs to be a lot lower so he can reach it easily amd see the greens/veggies and another one for water. Both lights are to be on for 10-12 hours in the winter and 12-14 more like 14 in the summer. Remove all food and water at bedtime and use a ceramic heat emitter at night mainly in the winter to keep temp from dripping below 70 if he’s 9mnths or older. If he’s under 9mtnjs old, the temp when sleeping should be 80-84 so use it every night till he turns 8mnths old. This heat emitter emits heat but no light. Get a 60 watt & place it above where he sleeps or an inch or so to the left or right of where he sleeps.

Hey THANK U SO MUCH for all the information guys! I discovered the lids come off the tank and I bought a lamp clamp (the lid was blocking the beat from getting in) took one side of the lid off clamped that sucker on and the tank is already getting warmer I've done the best i can putting the uvb across and above the basking area I think it will work now ?? What do u think ?? I was unable to find thermometers with probes at the Petco I went I had a small window of time from picking up my kiddo from early day at school but I'm on my way now to another store however the one I do have the temp is already rising and it's been on for like 5 minutes shes a little tripped out from the change but she WASNT looking good when i woke her up this morning so THANK YOU SO MUCH from the bottom of my heart especially u sadie for all the important information ♡♡♡♡♡
