I guess my main question is even if I can rehab her back to a 'healthy' point how do I know she isn't in constant terrible pain am I prolonging something that would bring her relief. I know this is a question for my vet , I just wanted some first hand knowledge of what I am looking at down the road.

The basking lights are ten inches away from platform I have a small black thermometer hydrometer on that platform not in this pic. I also use a temp gun the yellow one is for ambient. The left light is not on that high ever it's just for the picture.
