Arson is not well

On November 4th he was taken to the vet for a check up. Whole there he was DX with a mild URI and coccidia. He got baytril and.. some yellow meds. Yesterday the 24th I took Arson back to the vet because his uri had gotten worse. We had finished his ten day baytril. He was good for maybe five days ish? Then I noticed he was gaping and flexing beard again, I made a mental note two days later he is blowing bubbles!! So we rush to the vet. He has suspected pnuemonia in his right lung, he also has 'something funky' going in with his mouth... I had noticed his lips being a little... Saggy but didn't think too much of it I thought it was from blowing bubbles for two days. She said he looks anemic or like beginning mouth rot .. so we have a betadine rinse I rub in the once a day. My husbandry is in point but was recommended to raise his cool side temps for now from 71-78. What else can I do. Arson is my dude, he is spoiled and so loved. He is also a Petco purchase and has cost me hundreds in vet bills. He is only 5/6 months old. Car pics are yesterday at vet. He has a carrying tote but he wanted to do an explore. He gets a huge variety of bugs, dubia, crickets, BSFL, superworms, waxworms, meal worms , bok choy, sweet potato, carrot, acorn squash, mustard greens, snap oeas. These are all his faves

What is the humidity in his tank? It should be 40-50 for optimal nothing below 20 and nothing over 70%-- and your using a T 5 for a UVB correct? Is it in the tank ? Please get the cool side up to 80ish

His humidity is around 30. Yes he has two 36" uvb. Vet said bone density looked great. He gets repashy calcium and vitamin mix five days a week with a probiotic. I can bring the cold side up even more.

How big is the tank and why are you using two UVB's -- you only need one for a 120 and smaller tank-- where is the UVB? Distance and placement is crucial for effectiveness

Ok then :) beautiful tank ---- your basking lights please dont have them closer than 6" -- they look pretty close in the picture --- I dont see any hygrometers --- how are you getting humidity levels and I do see the one digital probe do you have another one on the other side? and your probe needs to sit on the hammock for at least 10 minutes where he sits to get a actual basking surface temp - if its stuck on the wall or side of tank its giving you ambient temps -- and I can see the UVB's must be approx 12-15 inches directly above which is good -- I know they sometimes recommend neb treatments for pneumonia --- what is the dosage for the meds? I am going to get someone to chime in on this ---

The basking lights are ten inches away from platform I have a small black thermometer hydrometer on that platform not in this pic. I also use a temp gun the yellow one is for ambient. The left light is not on that high ever it's just for the picture.

Does the hygro/ thermom have a probe on it? I would get a hygrometer w/ a probe on it place on the back center wall of the tank https://dubiaroaches.com/products/exo-terra-digital-hygrometer?variant=21432314265685 since the tank is so big I would get two of them - I use one for my 120 gallon tank but since your tank is like twice as big as mine I would get two of them - the one closest to the basking side I would place in the middle of the back wall and put one on your cool side of the tank - the one in the middle should pick up the basking side of the tank - what is the humidity level in the tank right now? optimal humidity is 40-50% but you dont want it lower than 20 and above 70
IR guns are not good for hammocks please use your probe

I heard back from one person waiting on another here is what she said
Wow, awesome set up, they went all out for Arson ! Nice looking dragon too. If the cool side was at 71 before they raised it to 78 ,that low temp. might have brought on the URI but it may have been other factors. Increasing the heat on the cool side to 78 was good, at night it should be that warm as well . CHE for night heat if they don't have one. The antibiotics may do the trick , along with the boosted heat, but if not they should ask about nebulization, but be SURE that the vet is a reptile specialist. Tracie is familiar with nebulizing so she might be of help on this.

Vet is reptile specialist and dragon enthusiast herself. Pre URi diagnosis she never recommended higher overnight heats. I have a che bulb I could add to the setup it drops to the low 70's at night. The slate floor upper 60's

Should I add a bowl of water to the Viv since I am adding more ambient heat to the tank. It can get to 20% humidity with all the heat and no water dish.

You want your humidity 40-50% - lower temps like 71 during the day and too low humidity less than 20% are causes of RI - humidity at nite will go higher + since your tank is so big you need a couple of them hygrometer s
