If this a growth or just stuck scale?

So our BD has had this for several months. It hasn’t come off in the bath and doesn’t seem to be shed as she’s shed other parts off and on and nothing ever happens to this one piece. She doesn’t like us messing with it either…it’s almost like it’s a growth or something? Hopefully the pictures...

Are there sometimes just lazy bearded dragons??

Great point. We’ll look into getting something else for basking. Problem is she is really quite a butt when it comes to changing her setup. The last time we did a major change she pouted in her hide for days into weeks and when we took her to the vet because we didn’t know what was wrong it...

Are there sometimes just lazy bearded dragons??

It’s fine mesh, but we cut holes jn it to allow the light and UVB to come through. However now that I’ve changed out the MVB for a regular bulb we need to have a place to overlap the long UVB fixture.

Are there sometimes just lazy bearded dragons??

z great point - we could just make a frame ourselves with whatever screening material we want! Problem is we really would need some kind of hinge because it’s a 100-gallon tank and it would be cumbersome to take off the entire top whenever we needed access. May be time to invest in a true...

Are there sometimes just lazy bearded dragons??

We’re in southern US so shouldn’t be brumation. I took some pics of our setup and checked temps when I got home since we replaced the MVB with a regular 100-watt - they’re attached here. Give me your thoughts. The last pic shows the type of UVB bulb and the next to last pic gives an idea of...

My Bearded Dragon is keeping only one eye closed

When you say you had that one do you mean an MVB bulb? We’ve used them for a while - I feel so bad! Or maybe it’s the manufacturer? Either way I changed it out this morning to a regular 100-watt so am anxious to see how she’s doing when we get home!

My Bearded Dragon is keeping only one eye closed

Oh thanks so much!! We don’t have loose substrate so something in the eye isn’t likely the issue. She started closing that eye before replacing the bulb...and we replaced the bulb this weekend with the same type and manufacturer (we’d had the other one in for months) - although I know things can...

My Bearded Dragon is keeping only one eye closed

Hi - I know you posted a long time ago but was wondering if you ever found out what it was? Or if the behavior stopped? Our BD is doing the exact same thing and has been for at least a couple of months. There’s never been any discharge or swelling or anything concerning, and she does seem to be...

Are there sometimes just lazy bearded dragons??

So we’ve had our BD for a little over 2 years. She’s never been super lively but in the past has been interested in climbing and generally curious about things when she’s out. She also used to glass surf some. We have her in a 100-gallon tank with a long 10.0 UVB tube light as well as an MVB...

    Closed eyes! Help!

Yes - we have no colored bulbs and use the repticarpet so no issues there. We have the long tube light in addition to the MVB - although in the past we’ve used regular bulbs for heat as well, and she has 2 hammocks and 2 caves. The eye issue is better so still don’t know what it was?

    Urgent Help Needed

Good news! I was going to mention that our BD acted this way and was dehydrated. The vet thought it looked that way from blood work but honestly if you think that could be a factor just feed her some hornworms (not frequently but maybe once or twice a week?) and/or see if she’ll drink from a...

    Closed eyes! Help!

So our BD has closed one eye before and at first I had no idea why - we’ve had tank setup and same lights for awhile so no issue there - and I attributed it to shedding even though her face isn’t actively shedding right now. She’s been shedding different parts of her body though and around her...

Bearded Dragon Just Lays there All Day

Did they say what to do about the spine issue? Will he keep flipping over or can he get stronger with the proper heat and light? Love the picture in the box - he’s a cutie!!
