I agree with the above comments, but I also wanted to throw in the suggestion of turnip greens! My girl was very meh about all of the greens I tried until I gave her turnip greens. She eats everything I give her now! Endives were also pretty successful before I tried turnip greens.
The dual fixture is fine, I just wouldn't use the red light at all, just remove that bulb? The red light can be disturbing for them. Some bearded dragons will only sleep with complete darkness. As long as the temps don't drop below 70 degrees at night, you don't need a heat source at night. If...
I'm glad I could make you feel better! I didn't know about the food thing either until I was watching a video by a reptile owner on YouTube who takes in reptiles, rehabilitates them, then adopts them out. He was talking about a bearded dragon he took in and said it took him a month before he...
Hi sorry to be responding so long after you posted. Hopefully you found the answers you were looking for, but if not, I’ll try my best to help! If not for you, for someone else!
For question one, I’ve heard some mixed things here and there. However, vitamin d3 is important for absorbing...
Some people will say sand and other loose substrates are okay, and in reality, you might be okay. BUT there is a chance that your beardie will be one of those who do not do well on it! So it is generally advised to not use sand or loose substrate at all. Sand and other loose substrates can be...
I’m no expert on babies, but I’m hoping to reassure you a bit. I adopted my first bbearded dragon back in March, and shes 2 years old. So like I said, no experience with babies. BUT I was right where you were! I did my research, thought I was doing everything right, but she was acting weird, and...
It very much depends on the age, but pellets are not a good food source for beardies. For daily staple salads, the base of the salad should be dark, leafy greens. Things like turnip greens, mustard greens, collard greens, and endives are great choices. These should be fed everyday. For veggies...
I get mine from dubiaroaches.com I’ve had really nice experiences with them and they have a subscription service so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to reorder if that’s something you’re interested in
My two year old girl was raised on pellets by her previous owner. I just took her in about two months ago, so we’re both still experimenting with salad ingredients. I’ve had no problem getting her to eat her greens (she currently eats turnip greens and endives), but she really won’t eat very...
My girl has been loving turnip greens and endive greens! For veggies I mix in bell peppers a couple times a week, mango, and raspberries here and there. Those are the only things she actually eats! I’m still experimenting with other veggies for her to try since she seems picky about them.
Thanks! Your tank looks awesome! I have nonadhesive shelf liners down right now, but I would like to get some tile. Did you just get them from like Home Depot or Lowes? Also is it beneficial for them to have various textures?
Hi all! Does anyone have a Zen Habitat (4'x2'x2') that they would be willing to show me their setups? I got one for my beardie a couple weeks ago and while it is setup enough at the moment, not everything is exactly right. I've been trying to look up images of other people's setups with the...
Hi, I'm a very new reptile owner and I feel like I'm doing everything wrong. Another bearded dragon forum had me confused, people telling me different things. I followed the "what to buy" page on their forum, then got berated for some of the things in the comments when I asked a behavior...
