Can I get a sticky, haha.I love this entire thread! Keep it up!
Well....I did as you suggested and put him on the front of my shirt and let go....he walked around a little bit and then jumped off onto the floor....Well I just found out mine was a girl lol I started slowly. Said hi to her everyday. let her see me every time I walked by my tank. If she ran I'd let her be so I didn't stress her. Then I would put water on my fingertips and let her lick it off so she knew I was friendly. I would pick her up sometimes when she was sleepy and pet her so she wasn't as hyper and try to run away. I did it slowly in the tank and started bringing her out more and more and now shes used to my touch and me handling her. When I would bathe her I would put her in the tub and let her run around for a bit. Getting to the tub was always scary because I was afraid she would zip out of my hand and hit the floor but she never did. So after her bath I would try to dry her with a little wash cloth and she would climb up my arm herself and go from there. It takes patience and yours will get curious. You can put him on your shirt and see what he'll do. He might just sit there or he'll crawl all over you like a playground lol I've only owned a beardie for so long so I just did my research on the internet on how to tame a beardie. You just got to remember they're babies and they're full of energy!!![]()
Good luck! They can be crazy energetic when they're young.Well....I did as you suggested and put him on the front of my shirt and let go....he walked around a little bit and then jumped off onto the floor....He wasn't hurt so I just picked him up and put him back in the tank....we will try it again.
Such an adventure!Alley had his first extended trip today. The reason: We're leaving for the weekend next week and will be traveling from GA to TN. I'm not boarding him up with the vet or having anyone else take care of him because I'm afraid they wouldn't take care of him properly. Anyway: I took him to be fitted for a harness at a pet store. It was extra large and he sat in it at first, and then at another pet store to buy his crickets, he slipped his harness. The other pet store: PetLand-their cricket's have clean cages and they back their crickets. Helped me pick a better fitting harness. He tried to slip out of this one while on the counter. He went over to the clerk to remove the harness. I loosened it in case it was too tight. It wasn't so bad, but when I put him back in his carrier, he ran trying to get the harness off him. I figured he needed to get used to the harness. He stopped running around. He's visited Hobby Lobby, Ingles, and Office Depot in his carrier.
