Hi All,
I’m just posting an update on Dragons world,
Dragon is now 7 month old. He’s getting big. From the tip of his nose, to the tip of his tail he’s 18 1/4 inches. And I believe he has more time to grow. But don’t tell his daddy (my husband Paul). He already thinks Dragon is bigger than Godzilla. Today he weighs 442 grams. His weight fluctuates. But I do what I can not to spoil him too much. Had to stop the hornworms. Sure they are like beardie crack to him, but just one a day and he looked like a watermelon with spikes in no time. Anyway.
Dragon is a boy. He developed the boy attributes. He’s developed a bit of a warm orange tinge. But no where near red. (They told me he would turn red by adulthood. But I’m really doubtful.)
He likes his toys. Little plastic animals, like the kind you can get for birds at the pet store, are his favorite. I also gave his a 4 inch stuffed toy yoda. He cuddles it sometimes. I take it out ever other or 3rd day and toss it in the wash.
Oh, and he’s gone from a 45 gallon enclosure to a brand new 120. Don’t tell his daddy, but if he gets much bigger I plan to get him a bigger place.
Dragon has a few favorite games. One is King of the Mountains. He climbs to the best or highest lookout and stands as if he is overseeing his kingdom. Every now and then tilting his head side to side.
The next is watch me play with my IPad. If he sees me take out my iPad, he sit on me and I have to play certain video games he likes. And he seemed almost hypnotized. When I stop he sometimes lets me know to do it again by standing on the screen until I put it back on.
He loves to crawl down to the carpet, find his reflection in the TV stand, and rather that puffing up his neck. He stares at it, and moves slowly like he’s trying to figure it out. He can do this for like 15 minutes before he scurries away to sit in a sunny spot I made for him.
And the last game he really really loves, that I TOTALLY HATE. Is, since he thinks he’s a dog, Is if he sees our dogs, he try’s to play with them. I never let them in the same room at the same time, but the few times they have been, he couldn’t wait to play with them. I keep them far apart, but this bothers me.
He’s a really picky eater. For a while it was collards, dill and dubias only. Then those changed. Then this then that. I never know what to get him.
By the time I think, great he’s eating this. Time to bulk order some and save money, I get 500 and he refuses to eat them Augh!
But his my baby boy. What can I say. I just hope he doesn’t start eating diamonds. Hubby won’t like taking out a second mortgage to feed Dragon.
That’s about it!
