What size tank ? If you going to put it in a 40 gallon that is fine but if you decide to upgrade to a larger tank later like a 75-120 gallon you are better off getting a 24" fixture like a Zoo Med -- Sunblaster or a Arcadia -
https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/arcadia-prot5-uvb-kit.html they are out of stock w/ the fixture of the 12% bulb but it looks like you can order separate https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/arcadia-12-uvb-t5-reptile-bulb.html
https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-terrarium-hood.html this would come w/ a 5.0 bulb perfect for tanks of 20 gallon or so you would need this bulb for a 40 + gallon https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/zoo-med-reptisun-10.0-uvb-t5.html
this site sells out quick of these fixtures and bulbs
The T 5 bulbs need to be changed out once a year I recommend a month prior to
The T 8's need to be changed out every 6 months I recommend a month prior to

So my wife and I have purchased a bearded dragon, we cannot get the humidity to stay down, and are becoming really unsure of what needs to be done as no methods are really working. Plan to get a digital hygrometer with a probe and hopefully the reptisun 5.0. It’s a baby, and we are extremely worried and feel like we’re not sure of what/where is right, what/where is wrong. It really shows affection to us and we want to care for it to our maximum ability… I apologize for the long question, any help or addvice? Thank You!

What is the humidity in the tank? Optimal is 30-50%- nothing below 20 and nothing above 70%---- now for the UVB the 5.0 is for smaller tanks like a 20 gallon but the best UVB is gonna be a 10.0 bulb for a 40 ++ gallon tank -- please tell me the size of the tank and I will help you get it properly placed--- make sure that fixture has a reflector in it -- NO under the counter fixtures from Home Depot or other hardware stores they have no reflectors in them
