using wood from outside

so if were to use some branches, logs ect, from outside, say building a perch or something, what should i use to make sure i get all of the bugs/germs off of it, would some bleach water work?

Just bake it...250*F for an hour... Also.. make sure that this is NOT a soft wood, like pine...

um this may sound dumb, but ive never put wood in the oven....shouldnt it catch on fire lol?

Just wash it with normal water and a scrub brush 1st to get rid of excess dirt and stuff. I bake my stuff 1x month when I clean her viv at 200 for 1 hour to maintain. And when 1st using something for 2-3 hours

Yep, it seems like it would catch on fire, but not at the low temp.
