So you mean open the back of the screen slightly so that he has full access to the UVB light, then keep the heat lamp right next to it on the screen? Also, his food is two parts water and I see he is drinking from his bowl as well so he is hydrated, along with the electrolytes bath I give him. He has been sitting on the side away from his heat for some reason. But both eyes are starting to open better.

Ok what kind of basking light are you using? If you have box post it- what are your surface basking temps-- and the uvb needs to be unobstructed uvb sitting on the end of tank width wise screen butted up to it w/ basking light on screen next to it so he's getting both at the same time -- make sure your using a digital probe thermometer-to get temps -
Post a pic of the tank when you finish please

Alright I will send you a picture when I figure out how to setup the UVB, as I am still confused. I have the Fluker basking light with the dimmer, however I always keep it on all the way. I also have the zoo-med 100 watt bulb. As for the surface temperature, I'm not sure how to find that. Is that the temperature of the surface of his basking piece?

I have not yet got the chance to buy the strips, however he looks lifeless. When i started syringe feeding he was doing better, opening his eyes, keeping his head up a bit, etc. Since yesterday he has been looking so bad it actually puts me to tears. I do not know what to do anymore. When I bought waxworms I refrigerated them, then put them in the calcium D3 and feed him about 3 a day, aside from reptaboost. Now I put calcium in his reptaboost mix. He only moves to fight me feeding him, other than that his head is plopped on the ground, eyes closed, and looks so lifeless. I don't know why he got worse, I think after feeding the worms maybe? He is not putting on weight, but is also not vomiting and pooping a little.

He uses any energy he has to get off his rock, as after feeding I keep him on it to help digest. He is leaning and trying to keep his head up, as this morning he looked even worse. He was on the cool side in the corner with his head flat on the ground. When I bathe him I will clean his tank, I left it about 3 days to monitor how much poop comes out.

Please get the screen off - the screen is blocking 30% of the rays- put the screen half off w/ bulb on the screen in the middle of the tank put the uvb width wise on the tank-- we need him to get full effect of the rays directly over him

About 10 inches. I stacked the other small decor on top of his rock for a bit, as I wanted him to be close to it. But I moved it again as I did not want him to get hurt. I do not think the top opens halfway, but I will try again.

Pull the screen off and place it half way on or a clamp on the basking bulb fixture clamped to the very end w/ the uvb moved toward the end placed width wise across -

I was gonna buy the 3M command strips like you suggested, if it holds, do I keep the light horizontal behind the heat lamp? How will he get both lights

Set him up on one end of the tank w/ his UVB going width wise across the tank w/ your screen half on w/the basking bulb on the screen -- you want it set up similar to this for the tank this set up for in the middle of a tote - you can set it up on the end of your tank -- either way you want both bulbs there -- surface basking temps 95-100 taken w/ a digital probe thermometer -- I would try and get a CHE ceramic heat emitter on him at night and keep temps around 80- you can turn the basking light off and turn the CHE on -- I would get a 100 watt for your 40 gallon tank - you want that UVB totally unobstructed -- he needs the UVB -- I want you to try and find a reptile vet in your area and get him in -- here is a website to find a vet www.arav.org if your in a small area type in a city zip code closest to you - in the mean time get your tank set up and hopefully this will start him getting back to health but I am not sure

Please don't tell me that, I know you're being honest but I am so anxious I feel like throwing up all the time, I have not been able to study for finals or anything. Every vet is closed right now, I will call them again tomorrow morning. I was gonna try to convince some of them it's urgent and to get me in asap, but receptionists tend to have a very poor attitude. I will do as you suggested now and show you. Also should I keep the UVB on 24/7? As I usually don't but I have been lately just in case he needs it.

No don't leave it on over night - he needs sleep with warm temps-- you can place a heating pad in the tank on low to get temps up over night- place a dish towel over it and set a probe on the side if the tank by it to see what your getting- I am sorry it's heartbreaking and frustrating - try that website I gave you please

I saw the link, it suggested a couple vets which are all closed. One told me to fill a form to request an appointment, the earliest day being Thursday, which I did but I doubt they will give it to me. Are you referring to the heat mat that sticks to the glass? I heard those were very bad for beardies. You think I should put it under the glass of his basking rock and a towel over it?

Stick the heat mat to the side of the tank closest to him - you want your ambient temp in the tank around 80 over night- I would call that vet you you have the appt with tomorrow --but for now get it set up the way I posted earlier- he needs that uvb-

Yes I have just turned off the UVB, but I will wake up early tomorrow and do this before I turn it on. I will call that vet and any other ones during my break. I was wondering though can too much calcium with D3 be bad? I gave about 2 scoops in his sludge earlier today, and planned on giving more since he seems to be lacking it. But I do not wanna give too much.
