Ugh when will Dino get better?

As some of you know Dino came to me with a big case of Giardia and my vet gave him .3 cc of Metrondondazole and told me to clean his habitat to the max before putting him back in it and bring him back in 2 weeks for a re-check, I cleaned and threw away 50lbs of sand and started all over again and now it has been 6 days since he was treated and IMO he still isn't much better. He will not hardly eat anything in a whole day and sits on his log under his head source and closes his right eye. I been giving him probiotics but now he refuses them. I got some Reptaid down him yesterday and today I decided to just inject a worm with Reptaid because he will not take it out of the syringe and he hasn't touched any greens since he got here. I am really worried that I just got a really sick lil dude from this breeder and I don't want to loose him.

Does anyone have any advice or should I take him to another Reptile specialist? Thank you for your help

Ok he just ate the worm with the Reptaid in it but I am still taking him to the Vets across town when they open at 9AM. Better safe than sorry and he doesn't seem right to me. Most Beardies like Yuki are pigs with their food and run after them until they catch them but Dino never has.

Poor Dino! He's not feeling well it sounds. :( I really hope he'll pull through and maybe the vet'll give him something else that'll help. :(

Thank you. I just ran an errand and made his appt for 3pm ( Thats all they had open) so we still got 2 more hours until we find out whats going on. When I got home I checked on him and he still has not eaten any superworms that I left in there for him :( He had pooped also and it smelled really bad so I am guessing he still has Giardia! If he does then that is messed up and my vet is going to get a AZZ chewing.

The Vet did a full check up and Dino's fecal was negative for giardia and or any parasites. Actually he got a clean bill of health. This vet did say that his shedding on his body and head was probably set back due to his Giardia. She was also stumped on the meds the first Vet used until I told her that what that vet said it was used on cows and she said oh then that makes sense. Albenzadole is what was used the first time, it is a broad spectrum that is used to get rid of all and any parasites and usually one dose will do the trick. The first time I took him to the vet he weighed 180 grms and this time he weighed 220 grms so I guess Dino is eating enough. I am so relieved his fecal was clear. She wants to see him again in another week to check on his shedding and do another fecal...YAY

So far this morning he has eaten 10 superworms and some Dubia Roaches and I he took a nice big poop and it still smelled god aweful but the vet said at this age their poos do smell a bit more than when they are adults. This vet does Reptile rescue so I think and hope I picked a winner for the Reptiles future vet :)

Would the poo stink because of eating so many superworms?? I have looked at those worms at Petsmart....nasty!! My Spikes poo never smelled really bad when he was younger....just regular poo smell!!

I have always read that superworms should be a 'treat'. However, when I ran out of crickets and only had mealies....that what he ate and all of them!! When Spike wakes up I 'might' try supers....eeewww....:D

I wonder how long illness can set back a shed? He shows no signs of shedding where he has turned white on his back and head? This last Vet said to keep a small bowl of water to bring up the humidity to help him through his shed. I spritz him off every day and once or twice a week soak in warm water.

He will shed when he's ready, sometimes it will take weeks from the color change to skin release.
