I'm seriously trying to hold back the tears right now. I haven't been on in a while because work has been taking up my time a lot.. But I got so scared I took him to the Vet yesterday in tears!!

He didn't eat AT ALL on Monday.. yesterday he ate in the AM like he was back to normal.. but then laid around && slept ALL day!! I had finally had enough come 4 && rushed him to the Vet.. the Vet told me he was depressed!?!? && he gave me meds for deworming him.. NeoCal && I forget the other one.. I'll get the name in a little bit..

But I'm struggling with the giving it to him Orally.. he is NOT a trooper! && the Vet also said to give him some Chicken baby food so he can keep getting protein && eat.. I am going to the Pet store today to switch to Meal worms.. I think MAYBE he is sick of the crickets...

But he has slept al. day. long. The Vet said he is a TINY bit on the small side.... I'm so heartbroken.. I thought we were doing good but Now I feel like a complete failure to him!

Has anyone else ever gone through this before? is there hope? Is he going to die!? Am I jus over reacting!?! ): Please say I am....

It could be his personality showing J.

My beardie, bones, is now full grown and there are days that he sits under his light observing everything, there are days where he sleeps all day long in his little corner, then there are days where he won’t eat at all, and just PLAY with his food and then we have days where he gobbles everything down J.

If you are trying to give him medicine orally, try coating some of his food with the medicine. Do you give him salad? Like spring mix with some carrots or anything? That is the only way I can get my bearded dragon to accept his calcium each week.

Is your vet a reptile specialist? His behavior doesn't seem that abnormal to me. Sometimes beardies won't eat everyday nor will they poop everyday. Were you able to get a fecal count on him? As for size....all beardies are different sizes. Some are HUGE, like Germs Vasuki....and some are tiny, like my Spike and he is 18 months. Do you know how old he is? Is there any way you can post pics of his enclosure? Make sure his temps are good. I have learned that beardies know what they need and don't need. How does your vet know he is 'depressed?' If your beardie has a dark mottled tummy that doesn't necessarily mean he is depressed....could mean lots of things. Personally....I would continue with crix and add some mealies. Give him his greens if he will eat them. Good luck and keep us posted....

Thanks.. I'm hoping that is the case.. but he is REALLY thin.. && he feels so frail..

Regardless he still needed to be dewormed lol But he has pooped everyday at least once.. but of course they were TINY cuz he hasn't eaten.. He won't eat anything.. the mealworms are a last hope.. he won't eat veggies either -,-

But no.. he has been bright in color && even at the Vets he was bright in color even tho he had his hands in a 'praying' position cuz he was so nervous lol (Yes he's a Herp :p I should have called him that instead.. he has a beardie && a iguana himself && has already wrote ONE book on iguana's, the Beardie book in almost done)

I forgot to say he is also worried his bones are a little soft :\ But us typical of Petsmart bought beardies )): He was just kind of THRUST upon up by my mother for my son's Christmas present so she didn't really think everything through...

I got the meds in his belly && got him some chicken baby food in there too.. it just breaks my heart trying to feed him.. I'll keep giving him the meds && let him be the judge of when to eat.. but he's so frail when we pick him up..... BUT I'LL TELL YOU WHAT!! When we went to give him his meds he still has TONS of fight in him lol

I was in tears when my Murtagh couldn't move due to MBD, but after toughing it out with his meds, and hand fed meals he seems like the happiest lil guy ever!

Could you personal message me? or Email me, Murtaghs? I am terrified this is what is wrong with him but slightly relived by what you said because... he CAN live with MBD?

We got him while he was rather big.. already 6in.. && Have been giving him calcium with his crickets.... but I guess it had already set in? What do I need to say to my Herp? I'm so upset because my heart is breaking for 2 people.. Myself because I love him && my son because that is his best friend..

I've been crying for 3 days because he's just laying there.. I feed him && he shows signs of improvement.. But he seems so weak.. It is SO hard to feed him because I have to do it alone && I seriously don't think I have the proper tools.. I'm so stressed

Oh dear....I have re-read and re-read your posts. I am so sorry he isn't doing well. All you can do is your best by your beardie and hope and pray that he pulls through. These little creatures are pretty resilient. Please keep us posted on how he does. My prayers are with you....
