Hello, my dragon has been fine until a few days ago. He's been staying in one corner, all day, but eating fine. Sometimes this happens and he'll be back to normal soon as, but I wasn't sure if anything is amis. He has been eating fine and the temperature is warm inside. I got a new long uv light a few weeks ago but I would've assumed if that was the problem he would've become sleepy sooner? I'm just wondering if this is normal or should I give more details if it's a concern?

The second issue, when I went to check on him and give him a bath, I saw loads of tiny tiny bugs !! Ahh! They have crawled out of the vivarium but they are inside and out now. I could not find what they are, I checked his body for mite bites and he is not injured anywhere. There's so many tiny bugs I will be taking everything out and putting new substrate in - but any help on what they are or how to get rid of them forever is appreciated! (See picture)

I am not familiar w/ the bugs so I am gonna have someone take a look --- the warm fine temps are not telling me anything -- dragons need surface basking temps of 95-100 for a 6 month old dragon and for babies 105-110 taken w/a digital probe thermometer --- what is the brand of the UVB and the bulb you got? Not all UVB 's are good ones and can cause issues -- your dragon should be basking at least 4 hours per day --

Got a couple of responses here they are
I don't know what those are. They look a little like termites but could be a number of things.
Tiny termites or possibly ants. Look up brown termites or ants to see pics.

Hi, I do not have a digital probe thermometer but I'm going to the reptile shop tomorrow so I can pick one up. He is an adult. For now, I have attached images of the lights I have currently ... thank you for replying. Please let me know if you can't read the lights and I'll type it out.

I went to local shop and they said perhaps termites. They suggested I take everything out and throw away anything that can't be boil washed. I checked under the substrate and there's so many I think they've got into the wood of the vivarium! I've started looking at new ones, might be best to throw the whole thing away and start again.

The percentage of your uvb is incorrect. If you having your tube inside the tank you need to use arcadia 12%. If you having it on the top of the mesh use 14%. Lack of that uvb may be a cause of laziness and in future more problems.

I agree you need a 12% or a 14% I would go w/ the 12% bulb - 14 are really strong and it is recommended for a 24" height on the tank --

The new tank is just under 24" high, but he has logs and things to get higher. Would the 12 be OK or should I get 14 just to make sure?

Get the 12% bulb and the screen on your tank will determine placement and distance --let me know what type of screen it is - fine mesh or a wide hole type

It isn't a mesh unfortunately, it's just a normal roof vivarium

You mean solid? Then it would go into the tank and distance would be 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor piece
