I have been on here with my bearded dragon a lot she has had health issues since she was very young she is 2 something years old and she weighs under a pound is there anything a bearded dragon loves that will pack weight on her that she doesn't have to chase... She is blind in one eye and if the insects go to the side she is blind in she cant see them anymore and we have to try and get her to hunt all over again it takes about 8-10 minutes just to get her to eat one superworm.

According to my calculations she is at 453 grams-- dragons are weighed in grams -- please post a pic of her so I can see her --- you dont want her really heavy and w / her weighing in at 453 she is good - you want her over 300 grams and if my calculations are correct she is of good weight- have you tried putting the insects in a bowl? What are you feeding her? Is she eating salads? You want her on a healthy diet not fattening food -- as long as shes eating greens and getting her protein she is good --- super worms horn worms wax worms butter worms meal worms are all treat worms and should be fed sparingly -- couple times per week - I would look into getting her on dubias -- crickets you can shake in a bag (one good shake) hard for her stunning them so they dont jump as fast or pull the back legs off so they cant jump at all --- silk worms are a good staple feeder and move really slow along w/ BSFL --

Ok please get a fecal into the vet have it tested for parasites --- I dont know if its the blindness thats causing the weight loss or what --- and make her a vet appointment www.arav.org if your in a small town please type in a bigger cities zip code close to you --- she needs a check up w/ a reptile vet --- NO ENEMAS at the vet ---- in the meantime please get some Oxbow Critical Care Herbivore then make her a slurry -- make it runny or soupy and feed w/ a spoon see if she will lick it off if not get a syringe and it may take 2 of you to feed her--- feed her 2 mls 2 times per day -- go slow so she does not aspirate --- go in on the side of her mouth w/ the syringe if you need to use a Q tip to get her mouth open -- or you can try a credit card but make sure you dont hurt her -- the water in the slurry is going to give her hydration --- but she needs food now -- she does not weigh 453 grams -- please get a kitchen food scale weigh in grams please -- they will weigh her at the vet but please get her in ---
follow the directions on the bag on how to mix but you will need it soupy as the stuff is really thick also if you need to cut the tip of the syringe off thats fine so it doesnt plug it up

@Sadie I ordered the critical care today
Ok she needs that badly --- have you been feeding her anything ? What about the vet? Do you have an appt for her? I would get some greens into her in the form of a slurry -- she needs food or shes going to get too weak and keep her hydrated as well --

We are trying to get her in but we only have one exotic animal vet around here and she is expensive as heck and is always booked a couple weeks out as she is the only one for about 60 miles.

We got the shelf liner yesterday and put it in her tank
Have you found a vet yet --- ? is the one that is 60 miles out? if so get a appt you can always cancel if you find one closer and then start looking and calling for someone that may be closer -- you can always call and find out how much experience they have w/ bearded dragons--- ask --- NO Enemas !! that is what I did when I found Dr Nancy -- she is wonderful --

It is winter and we have no heat in our truck, it gets cold in there quick... and we would be spending more in diesel than we would for her entire appointment not to mention our truck has been breaking down quite a bit and I dont want to be 40 or 50 miles from home and the truck quits. we are trying but we have other bills we just had to shell out 1500 in truck parts we couldn't really afford to pay they charge 75 dollars just to walk in the door let alone any medicine or treatment they decide to give her.

I heard back from one person now I am waiting to hear back from the vet tech I sent the post to -- here is what one of them said
I don't know anything about sending in a fecal test, maybe Tracie does. This dragon is very, very critical and would need lots of special care to survive, if she can at all. The Oxbow is a good start, hopefully she'll eat it .

I am hoping to hear from Tracie tonite she is on late at night ---

Ok that looks like good poop --- what is the smell like ? Really bad and stinky like enough to drive you from the room? If not but it will smell of course she may not have parasites --- which is good - still working on a fecal from home test --- can you have someone take you to this vet you found --- let me know I will help you get set up for a winter drive to the vet for her
