Hi! I’ve been using a recommended probe thermometer to monitor basking temp for a very long time but it’s takes a while to get an accurate reading usually 10-15 minutes as it’s slowly calibrates the temp. I’m constantly putting it back on top of his rock as he always knocks it off so it’s never just sitting there with a temp reading I always need to put it back and wait the 15 minutes. I’ve also found that over time they lose their accuracy despite trying many brands. My question is if there’s any other reliable way to measure the temp for my beardie in a way that’s faster and more reliable. If anyone happens to have any leads that would be greatly appreciated thank you! Maybe a radar gun type thermometer?

Yes get a IR gun and cross reference temps - but the digital probe is the most accurate - have you used Zoo Med

I have used the zoomed they’re good but pretty obviously lose their accuracy over time I suppose I can replace them more often. I’ll get an IR gun for cross referencing. Any other brands you can recommend I try out or just still with zoomed. Thanks!
