I started adding superworms to my bearded dragon's diet about a month ago... just 4-5 a week. Now, she won't respond to the dubias or to the salad greens for the last two weeks. She used to be very very food motivated with the dubias but now won't even recognize them when they are in front of her face. I've stopped giving her worms to ween her off. I was worried that maybe she has parasites or perhaps she's not as hungry since she's close to 11 months and her tail had started to molt 2 weeks ago. She does manage to eat salad once or twice a week and poop once a week with normal solid stool but slightly mucous coated. Just wanted to respond here in case anyone else sees the case of how superworms can be addicting? Should I just wait it out, refuse her superworms? Is it alright for her at this age for her diet to change so drastically.

Yes about the diet and shes hooked on superworms --- I would start back w/ the dubias again serving salads every day -- she wont starve herself -- have you fed horn worms or silk worms - the horn worms are a treat worm and the silk are a staple feeder --

we do leave salad out everyday and try to feed the dubias but she doesn’t notice them or react when they run around. Usually she is very quick to eat them. Hopefully she will notice them again soon, will keep trying everyday. thank you!

With our other reptiles we offer high percentage of a food we are trying to get eaten. We believe a variety is best but increase what we are targeting to be a majority of the overall amount. Not an expert though.
