I dont actually breed superworms, but for the other insects I use alfalfa pellets instead. I would think it would work with superworms too.

Dont go too crazy with the wheat germ though as its very high in phosphorous and also very high in phytic acid. Phytic acid tends to bind with minerals like calcium, so can actually counteract some of the gutloading process.

My bad....I meant wheat bran, is it the same?

alfalfa pellets ? hmm - i have a couple of horses. guess i'll have to scam some alfalfa leaves from the barn. probably should get it BEFORE it passes through (and becomes much bigger pellets !!)

No, germ and bran are from different parts of the grain, but both have the same problems essentially (high phosphorous, high phytic acid). Again, its ok to use for part of the diet but you dont want to use it too much. Alfalfa is better as its high in calcium and other minerals and lower in phytic acid.
