Should I adopt or shop?

I am new to this forum and have dedicated the time, space, money, and care to get one of these beautiful creatures. After doing tons of research and thinking about it, I'm wondering should I adopt a rescued beardy or should I get a baby from a pet store. Any advice from the BD lovers out there?

Adoption is almost always better! Many pet stores don't take the best care of their lizards. Contrary to popular belief, buying from a pet store does not "save" the lizard-it just opens up a spot for a brand new one to be placed in the same situation. If you can't find an adoptable beardie, buy yours from a specialist shop or a small business that takes good care of its reptiles. Adoption is more humane, and it takes an animal off the hands of overrun animal rescues. It also means you're likely to get a healthy animal that was well-cared for by people who love animals. Plus, the adoption fee is normal a lot cheaper than the cost of finding one at a pet store. The only cons to adoption are all the paperwork and inspections required.

I totally agree. There's only one problem. I found a rescue that is 11 months old and I fell in love with him. Problem right now is I am with my family at my grandma's house ( plus a tort, and two dogs). We are moving in a month to a new house, and that was when I was planning on getting one, after we settled down and all. I am still technically a minor so I live with my parents, and they thought we would get one like in the next 6 months. A) I don't know how to talk about it with my parents about speeding up the process and getting one now and B) idk if my grandma wants any more animals in the house. Any tips or advice?
