PatsyB, you don't buy dandelion in a grocery do you? We have to pick ours and it is difficult to find places around Columbus, Ohio where we are sure they haven't been sprayed with some chemical either for pest control or weed killer!!!

Yes I buy it organic. It's just the leaves, not the flower. I tried growing it in my Aerogarden last year with no success. I live in an apartment in Chicago, my dragons don't even have grass to play on outside :(

I'll have to look for it. I know Kroger's doesn't have it. The General likes it so much, I've been thinking about winter when we won't be able to pick it... Thanks for the heads up!

You buy the dandelion greens at the grocery store. You don't want to pick anything that grows in the wild.

Any ideas on why the General has begun eating only in the morning? He used to eat all day. LOL Now I can't tempt him with anything the rest of the day! He wakes up and gobbles his greens and a few crickets and worms, then....trucks back over to his basking log and takes it easy all day.

As they get older they tend to taper off eating and change their eating habits. My little almost 9 month old will do something similar. In the morning he will eat his salad but won't eat live prey until later in the day. He has no particular time he wants to eat them and he will only do it once. So all day I offer him live food until he eats it!

Mine eats 25 or so cricks around 8am.. Then I place his bowl of mixed salad in collards, spinach, chunks of apple, some shredded carrots and some acorn squash. I take it out at night when he gets his next 20 cricks he has no problem with anything being left over.. He actually stands on his hind legs hoping I will drop the cricks down his mouth it's pretty funny really

Good The General actually ate twice today. Once first thing in the morning he ate his greens, then again later he came down for some more and I dropped crickets and worms in for him.... yay!.
