I currently have zoomed excavator clay at the bottom of my terrarium but it’s almost impossible to clean it. I’m looking for a loose substrate that is safe for beardies? A lot of website said zoomed vitasand but I want you guys input.

I wouldn't use sand with anything added to it. Children's play sand is the best sand to use if that's the route you want to go. You can even do a sand, soil mixture for a more bioactive tank.

No, it’s too sharp. If they swallow any, it could tear up the intestines.

Still not good, even though they are rounded, they can still get stuck in the intestine.
