Relocation Stress?

We brought Frodo home Saturday. He is 11 months old he ate all his collard greens, and some crickets, he was fine. He has not eaten any greens since, and is hiding and sleeping quite a bit. He will still eat crickets. We have him in a 4x2x2 enclosure with 125w exto terra MVB. The basking temp is 104 the warm side is 95 and the cool side is 81. Is this just relocation stress, and how long does it usally take for them to get over it?

It could very well be relo stress. It can last a couple of days to a couple of weeks. What are you using to measure your temps?

Do you know if he was brumating prior to you taking on his care?

We have 2 acurite probes, and a tempgun. He was not brumating, when we picked him up. He was eating great, and active.

It is most likely relocation stress. Hopefully, he'll snap out of it in a couple of days. How's he doing today?

He is out more, and basking. He is still not eating greens very well, at the breeders he was schofing down greens when we saw him there. What is normal behavior, I'm not sure as this is our first beardie.

Normal behavior? Lol...sorry, I can't help but laugh. Beardies are a funny creature in that everyone is different. There is a baseline though.

Most beardies do not eat their salad when young. But it should still be offered daily because once they pass the 1 year mark, salad will be their daily staple and proteins (bugs) will be offered 3-4 times per week.

Do you know what greens and veggies the breeder fed your beardie? Also, beardies have been known to go on strike of their salad. They can eat it like champs for weeks/months and then decide they no longer want anything to do with it.

As far as food, beardies tend to like a variety of food. So, salad (veggies and greens) should be mixed up. And proteins should be switched up too.

Here's a link to our basic caresheet. Give it a read and let us know if you have any questions.
