For anyone who didn't see my last thread I purchased a rabbit hutch that I am working on, to convert into a bearded dragon home! I'll be posting all update pics in this thread from here on out!

Its here! The hutch arrived yesterday (12/13/2020). The hutch came in (roughly) 10 large, easy to put together pieces. I have already started with my modifications! Today I removed the wire in the front and replaced it with 2 (slideable) sheets of plexiglass glass ( pictured). I will not be putting the hutch together until my dry lock comes in and I'm able to seal every inside part of the enclosure the dragons could come in contact with. Thankfully the 2 bottom pieces are plastic and don't need to be sealed. The left side of the enclosure also has wire that I will be leaving so that the cage will be well ventilated. I bought two 10×6 vent covers to go on the right side of the enclosure to allow air flow (pictured). I also bought hanging hooks to hang their basking lights on inside. Their t5 bulb fixtures already come ready to be attached to the inside. I still have a long way to go but I'm excited to get it done and see how long it takes me to get there!

*Foot Notes* This enclosure is HUGE (54LX21H×23D) and will be a much needed improvement to to what they have now (which is the minimum required). This enclosure will have 2 SEPERATE stacked places for my 2 male dragons. They will never come into contact with each other or see each other. THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN TOGETHET AND WILL NOT BE TOGRTHER. This hutch is made out of fir ... which is essentially pine .. hence why I am sealing rhe entire inside of the hutch. Please feel free to make HELPFUL suggestions or ask questions!

Lastly follow this thread for updates!

Thank you so much! It was alot of fun to make!
It looks amazing but the UVB needs a reflector on it -- I cant see one ---- and I would look at getting it positioned over the basking area directly--- what is the bulb your using a T 8 or a T 5? the bulb is going to determine distance

Ok sounds good -- your distance for the T 5 should be 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor
