my guys got their first dose of panacur today! they weren't thrilled about me opening their mouths, that's for sure. they got a soak in the tub afterwards. they're now big enough for the bathtub instead of the sink!

You may not see a difference in their poop until after their second dose in 2 weeks. 3 doses, one every 2 weeks should get rid of the worms and get their poop back to normal.

so they called back and said they have pinworms. they said beardies normally have them so they don't need to be treated....

Crystal, pin worms are not normal. Most likely those came from their crickets. What was the suggested treatment length for the panacur ?
Just curious...

Janie, I know this post is growing and to get you up to speed, Crystal took her dragons and poo sample to her her vet. The vet in her area simply said they had pinworms and this is normal for bearded dragons. Crystal didn't feel comfy with that and is seeking advice from us.

I've never experienced worms, so I don't have any assist for treatment. Hope this helps!

My vet gave me one dose upon diagnosis. 2 weeks later she got another dose. 2 weeks after that he got a 3rd dose.

He said some vets only do 2 doses but it is become more common for 3 rounds to be given. Hope this helps.

Ahhhhh... Thank you, Renee... Now the only time I had issues with pins, was with Petey and Dora ( and two other leo gecks) when we first got them.. I noticed they were not gaining weight, so I had their fecals examined, and they themselves.. Yes they all were loaded with pins.. My vet suggested a topical panacur, using 4 rounds ( a month) then a new fecal to make sure adults, juvies and eggs were all cleared.. Since then, no issues.
