YES; Agreeded but some people live in Canada and can't get them[well can] but it is illegal and if caught they seize all roaches and all animals and if you get them back-They will all be in very bad condition. That is why I suggested grass hoppers for some that live in Canada. River-7

Yep can't get them here. There's no legal roach available here to feed ad a staple diet for our beardies. Crickets, supers, pheniox, mealies, hornies, etc are what we have.

I'm gonna try once a month to feed my biggest a pinky. My sedan plated loved em so hopefully the beardie does too.

I tried feeding a pinkie to my adult female. I thought it was pretty sad. The poor thing squeaked the whole way home. When I fed it to her she wasn't sure what to do and just attacked it but she wouldn't eat it. So it laid there squeaking in pain for about a minute after my Beardie was done playing with it and walked away. I will never do that again. It was too sad.

I'm 100% against giving dragons pinkies. They aren't good for them and there are many better alternatives so it just seems irrational to me. I guess for some people there's that "cool" factor, but it just seems strange to me (although feeding them to snakes is not, for example, and makes complete sense).

I own sav too.so the cool factor is out the window.i also feed frozen thawed pinkies so the squeaking is out too.i feed them to just laying females to put weight on them because eggs takes a lot of nutrition out of them and it helps put the weight back on

Also out in the wild the have adapted to eating other things other than bugs for food in the evolution process

I understand both your points, but I still respectfully disagree. :) They do eat other things out in the wild. That being said, their life expectancy is lower too (not just because of diet, I will recognize that as they are also prey items).

With the recently pregnant females, what health benefits do mice provide? Is it just weight gain? If so, aren't there alternatives to increase a dragon's weight? Example: unhealthy skinny people can fatten up by eating cheeseburgers, but is that the best way? I'm not trying to railroad you, I am genuinely interested and happy to debate. Who knows, you may have a good argument I hadn't considered and may convince me to change my mind.

P.S. What is sav?

No problem. That's what I have learned over the last year that is the best way to fatten a female up from the breeders I have talked too.
A savannah monitor haha sorry.i have some pics of him in my thread "looks like I have an operation"
