my bearded dragon has a very mixed diet the only feeder he doesn't get is phoenix worms. Does anybody feed phoenix worms to their dragons and is it essential for them to have phoenix worms in their diet due to the fact that they have alot of calcium in them.

Pheonix Worms are a decent feeder in that they have a higher calcium content than most feeders & have close to the 1.5:1 - calcium to phosphorous ratio that is desired, depending on which comparison chart you look at. Therefore require very little dusting if any. They are fattier than crix or roaches & very little, if at all, any more nutritional content than most other worms. They are not an 'Essential' part of a diet, BDs have been doing very well since the start of the hobby without feeding maggots, providing the proper supplementation is provided. As with many aspects of diet & husbandry, it's personal preference.

Yes, Pheonix Worms & Reptiworms are both Black Soldier Fly maggots or larvae. Wax worms are an altogether different species & are the larvae of the Wax Moth.
