Sometimes Rex randomly opens his mouth for like 10-15 seconds then closes it. What does this behavior indicate? I'm hoping it isn't a health issue. I'm guessing this is what we'd label as gaping.

sounds like he is just regulating his body temp. As long as he is not doing it all the time and your temps are good it should not be anything to worry about.

ok thanks, good to know. Yea temps are good, I recently bought the digi temp guages with attached temp probes, really nifty little things and only 6 bucks.
