Yes, he ate 20 crickets the other day and made a mess of his salad, but it doesn't look like he ate any of it, maybe a super worm. I put super worms in his salads.
Did he eat the super worms?

He has lived a long life - so you did good a job taking care of him -- the black beard is not good - makes me think hes not feeling well -

Thank you so much of saying that.

I think so, too. He has had a more or less black beard for the last few weeks. :(

I will be sad when his time comes, but my gut feeling is that he doesn't have a lot of time left. I would love to be wrong.

No, he left the super worms.

He's only eaten crickets out of my hands for a while now. He doesn't chase them any more.
Hes gotten too old to chase I guess - have you tried dubia roaches or silk worms for him?

He is willing to eat dubia and crickets from my hands. He doesn't chase bugs any more, which is why I put super worms in his salad bowl. They can't go far, and he can eat them whenever he wants. Lately he's been leaving them. I put calcium on the bugs before hand feeding them to him.

Have you tried hornworms?

He seems to be showing some improvement. He stopped sliding off his log, he's moving around a bit, and yesterday he went over to his dish and ate his super worms. He had a bath today, and his head is up and he's looking around. His beard is still dark, but it has lightened up. Fingers crossed that he makes it to 14!
