Unfortunately life is about investing in things and not knowing if they are going to last or not. With bearded dragons and other reptiles it's always trial and error. What works for one person, may not work for another. For example I LOVE Zoomed basking bulbs. I have always used them and they last a long time for me. A few weeks ago my bulb blew out and I didn't have the right wattage so I used a Par38 halogen bulb. People use them because they are cheaper and they last forever. Well a week after I put it in, it blew out. They have never worked good in my situation.

Reptiles are expensive between getting the right supplies that work for us, and vet care and live food, it all adds up.

I forgot to mention. If you go into the general care heading, there is a pinned link at the top of the list to Reptile Lighting. It is a great article to read to understand why they need the lights they do and why not to use colored lights. Also, when you have time, Goggle Francis Bain, she is a leading expert in reptile lighting.
