So correct me if I misunderstood,

For a dragon I should have two lights.

A heat lamp - Clap lamp with a flood light or a reptile basking light

UVB - Reptisun T5 HO 10.0 UVB

But I'm reading that the tank needs to have three zones, a hot, a warm, and a cool. But where does the warm zone come in? Is it the space between the heat lamp and the cool side?

Expecting my baby this weekend. Trying to make sure I understand all this!

Your warm zone is going to be the middle of the tank between where the basking light is and the cool side. Make sure your basking light and your UVB light are on the same side of the tank. The UVB provides D3 and heat from the basking light helps syhtesize it to calcium.

But the UVB tude can go across the tank right? No heat is coming off that tube?

Yes it goes the length of the tank with it overlapping with the basking bulb on the hot side.

I went to petco today, got my 40 gallon breeder for 60 bucks! Was on sale. So damn excited for my baby's arrival Saturday!

So I can pick up clamp lamp and flood light from the hardware store and that would suffice for a heat lamp?

Yes, just make sure the fixture you buy supports the type of bulb and the wattage you need.

Could I get a second opinion on that "white light" as a heat lamp?

not sure what you are needing but yes those in the picture are daytime basking bulbs for heat and will work fine...you just will need to monitor the temps to make sure that you have the wattage that you need to obtain the correct temps

Well what I'm buying from this gentleman is a heating bulb and clamp lamp. I just wanted to make sure that this was ok. I'm freaking out to make sure I have all the right things before this guys come hime tomorrow.

I'm still looking for a good UVB bulb. I want his tank nice and warm by the time he's home tomorrow.

As long as the heating bulbs are not a red/black/blue you will be just fine.. those in the picture are basking (heat) bulbs.. No need to freak out your going to do just fine

As far as the UVB most of us use Reptisun T5 HO 10.0 units

I saw white, and was like  shouldn't it be clear! yes I'm trying to find the repti during my lunch break. What is the difference between T5 and T10? One has to be closer to the dragon than the other?

T5 is a small linear bulb, and penetrates thru wire mesh tops 5.0 bulbs that depending on where you get your hood system will come with the hood.. you want to get a 10.0 bulb that penetrates further down into the tank.. keep the 5.0 for a back up emergency bulb. You want to make sure you get the HO (high output) bulbs.
the other UVB is a T8 these are thick linear bulbs and do not penetrate very far thru wire mesh tops.

Gotcha! Thank you!! I have only seen T8 in my shops around. If anything I'll get a T5 and order the T10 from Amazon.

You will likely find more T8 in petstores and not too badly priced
so if you have to get a T8 then go online and shop around and find a T5 HO 10.0
