She's a stunning girl even with the blue spots from the breeder's marker. LOL! :) She does look like a Dorito all right! That's a good name for her. :)

Well the breeder said she would send me a tracking # around lunch time so I could pick up my baby girl tomorrow but lunch has come and gone and I have not heard anything :(

Oh dear....I don't know if I could order a beardie and have it shipped to me. The little beardie must 'fear for his life' when tossed all around. Hope she is good when she arrives. I know that you will be a fantabulous 'mother'.

Dino was shipped to me and he climbed right out of the box on me. I had all of my birds shipped to me and 2 of my dogs. I hope I hear something soon because I gotta be at work in the morning and promised my sister lunch. I don't think it is good business to not keep in touch with a customer to let them know the plans for shipping when promised a shipping confirmation number at lunch today. Sigh, sorry to rant its just frustrating how people are these days.

Thanks so much, Pat I sure try my hardest to be. I worked most the morning hot glueing her light fixture in the habitat and putting in substrate ...etc

Hope things work out smoothly for you & your gorgeous new BD, waiting or not knowing can be one of the hardest things to handle, particularly when you are excited :D .

May I ask what you are using for substrate?

I am using Linoleum ( without the sticky on the back) I had it cut from lowes. I have been using it with Dino for a couple of weeks and it has been working out great since he only would poop once a day until he went into Brumation and no insects can get under it. I am going to try to upload a photo and see if there is anything I need to change? I am using a 75 watt halogen bulb and a Reptisun 10.0 tube light. Does she need something a bit closer to the tube light to get sunlight?

Like your enclosure but am curious as to why all the extra bowls and the purpose of the large pyrex dish? Your dragon truly only needs one feeder dish. If the large dish is for water then you should be aware that they don't need or require a water bowl or "bathing pool" in their enclosure as it will only serve to unnecessarily increase the ambient humidity in there which is not what you want for a creature designed for arid, dry climates.
Besides that all of the extra unnecessary dishes will create hides for your dragon's live prey and make it difficult for her to find and catch them.
All that she needs is her basking perch, a single dish for her greens and perhaps a rock to naturally help keep her nails trimmed.
If you want to keep the hide/rock in there I would suggest moving bit to the cool side of the enclosure and away from directly under the basking light. Reason being that having it under the basking light will make the temperature inside the hide much higher. Kind of an oven effect.
Last thing I would recommend is running the probe cable for your basking thermometer down the inside wall then across the floor and up to the basking spot where you have it attached. Reason being is that the way it appears you have it running now to the basking spot will make it possible for your dragon to pull down.
These are all simple, quick fixes to your setup that will make it much better for your new dragon and also by keeping the enclosure to basics will help her to acclimate quicker and less stressfully.
Hope she arrives safely and looking forward to updates!
Enjoy!:)

I like the look of the lino. To answer your question about the distance to the UVB bulb, where the basking spot is situated in relationship to the center of the UVB tube, I would have to say yes. UVB bulbs have a limited effective range & this dissipates quickly as the bulb ages & is why they must be regularly replaced. The strongest\furthest effective range is emanated from the center areas of the tube, drastically reduced towards the ends, with very little in comparison emitted off the ends of the tube. A Repti-Sun 10.0 tube only has a Maximum effective range of 20" from the center area of a NEW unfiltered Bulb. Again, this maximum distance dissipates quickly as the bulb ages.

Personally, I would have tucked the fixture right into the corner, moving the center area of the UVB bulb as far to one end as possible. As things are mounted in the pic, I would suggest moving the Basking Spot & Basking Light\fixture 5"-6" towards center, which would bring your BD into a safe effective range of the center area of the UVB tube. Approximately 10" from the bulk center areas of the UVB bulb should give effective UVB for the Manufacturer's recommended life of the bulb which on a Repti-Sun 10.0 is 1 year. Some keepers will replace an unfiltered UVB bulb more frequently & there is nothing wrong with that. Personally I change mine every 10-12 months. Had your UVB fixture been mounted above the screen, it would have to be changed at least every 6 months because a screen can filter/block/reflect as much as 50% of the effective UVB from ever entering the enclosure & the basking spot would have to be much closer to the bulb to be effective.

The large water\swimming area is unnecessary and will raise the relative humidity in the enclosure, which is something many of us would like to reduce, not purposely raise. There are very few puddles or ponds to romp in, in their natural desert\scrubland habitat. Ideally, an RH of 10%-30% is what should be striven for, if your climate will allow it. What are all the other bowls for?

Hope this helps somewhat ...

Thank you both. The extra bowl is for her soaked pellets if she eats them and the other is for her greens and the other is a worm bowl which was a waste because the worms can still crawl out LOL. The large red bowl is turned upside down now but when I took the picture it was turned right side up and that is where it will be when she gets older. As requested by her breeder it is a place that will be filled with coconut fiber if she goes gravid and decides to lay eggs. The breeder said having a place to lay even unfertile eggs will help prevent egg binding. I moved her basking place a bit more towards the back and will move it more towards the center of the UVB bulb. She has a New Reptisun 10.0 so I will replace that in 6 months. Shes eating really well and so teenie tiny, as you can see how small she is up next to the probe. The thing is she keeps moving and acting like she gets too hot where it reads 110 degrees and moves to the lower spot that reads 99 degrees?? That is why I put 2 probes now on one side to make sure shes getting the correct heat but the lil bugger keeps moving LOL! Shes absolutely darling and my heart skips a beat watching her run after her crickets :) Here she is basking....shes also shedding right now.
