Hey all,

new to the forum :)

And this is Eddie (-lizard ;D) who i got yesterday

I got him from a freind of a freind who had him for tow months, so by that i think hes maby 3-4 months old? im not sure, any one like a guess?
Hes about 5.5 inches form noes to where his tail starts

He also dont like being handled, :-\ i dont think the previous owner had much time for him, as they were more interested in there snake (who passed, so they rehomed the beardy, he didnt even have a name :'( ) But hopefully after a week or two he would have calmed down, :) although, he will happily eat out of my hand !! :p

Today i went to the local reptile shop and ive bought him some meal worms (About 3/4" long) and some small locus (also around 3/4") and a multyvitamin powder Which he seems to love ;D

Just wondering how much i should be feeding him ? Today hes had around 15 meal worms, and 5 locust. But he just wont stop eating! ;D Should i give him more? say, 10 meal worms in the morning with 3 locust (all dusted), and 10 mealworms and 3 locust at night ? (dusted or un dusted?) Or should i give him more?

I also have some romain lettuice on offer, which when i offred to him after his meal worms he ate the lot ! which i was really impressed at !

Cheers ;D

Welcome aboard mate,

Nice dragon and as Tom said about the veggies ;D. Just a suggestion I would switch the substrate to a non-particle substrate like shelf liner or tiles. The wood chips may be fatal if ingested.

Hi, Shane and welcome! Eddie looks very handsome. I think it is great that you have taken him in.

I would also stay away from the mealworms. They don't offer any nutritional value and can be difficult to break down.

Here's a link to our basic caresheet. It goes over temps, food, lighting, substrate, etc. Give it a read and let us know if you have any questions.

if he's not that good at being handled....talk to candice (BeardieLover17) ....you could try to get him to trust you by.....hand feeding...keeping your hand in the water when you bathe him.....just be gentle and patient....

He can get within 8 inches of his UV :) but i might lower it / make a reflector sheild

And ive just ordered a digital thermometer which has two probes, so i will set them up either end of the tank :)

Ive also bought him a pot of wax worms as treats :), he now has waxworms, mealworms, locus and crickets ;D . He had a poo earlyer and i could see no eveidence of mealworm shell, Does that mean there ok for him ?

He has now got a huge bag of curly kale for him, and some melon and grapes ;D instead of the romain lettuice :) Which he seems to be working through :D

As for roaches i cant seem to find any ??? (i live in the UK) Not even the online suppliers seem to have them ???

And how hard would a superworm colony be to set up ? :) Will they be able to be used as a everyday meal ?

Thanks ;D ill get some more pic's up later :)
