I just rescued/adopted a dragon who is "around a tear old". He was left behind in an apartment. He is waaaay too skinny, not sure if he's going to make it, but I will do everything I can to help him. I had to feed him with a syringe, but he did eat some. I fed him some stuff I found on Etsy called Beardy Gold. I have used it before when another dragon wasn't eating his food and it worked for him, so I am hopeful. Please keep Drago in your thoughts! PS... this puts me at 4 dragons so now I am the crazy dragon lady of the neighborhood...lol

I have never heard of the stuff your feeding - please get some oxbow herbivore critical care and carnivore critical care - he looks very dehydrated as well please drop water on his snout see if he will lick - he needs good surface basking temps 95-100. taken with a digital probe thermometer a good uvb no coils- I can recommend 2 good ones if you need help - the oxbow critical care can be found on Amazon or maybe your vet sells it as well

He has been with the beardy gold for 2 days and is now moving around and responding to my voice, which is a huge improvement. Will order the oxbow today after work. He does now pick water off his nose, he didn't when I got him on Tuesday. Thanks!

That's the first thing I did when I got him home. I changed all the bulbs and then checked everything with probe thermometers and a temp gun

The lady who gave him to me admitted that he didn't eat at all during the time she had him - about 2 months. I am trying my best to keep him alive. I found the oxbow stuff at petsmart, so will switch him at next feeding. He was more lethargic when I got home from work today.

How big is the tank? I recommend getting a 24" zoo.med hood w/ the reptisun 22" T 5 24 watt placement depends on the screen

His tank is 4x2x2. The uvb fixture is inside
Please upgrade the uvb it's too small for a 120 gallon tank- distance should be 12-15 inches directly above a piece of basking decor

It hangs by a chain and is about 14 inches above the basking area

I am looking to add another one as soon as I can afford another one. My other 3 tanks all have 2 inside.one hangs around 11 inches, the other around 14 inches

I have 3 other beardies, 1 I have had since he was a baby, and I inherited the others from other people. This one was in the worst shape I have ever seen. I took him in in the hopes of saving him.

Sadly, I went to check on Drago and he has passed away. I didn't even have him 48 hours. I did what I could for him but I think I got him too late to really help him.

I agree - dragons are resilient but if left to long they wont make it- I am so sorry to hear this - my guess is his organs started shutting down - I rescued a dragon a few years back and it was the saddest thing she too had been malnourished by the owner and it was the saddest thing - I kept her alive for 2 weeks but she too was to far gone -
