Hi all!

2 weeks ago I brought my first bearded dragon home, Biggie.
He's about 4 months old and looking healthy to me.
I've been reading and gathering information about bearded dragons for a few months but I still got some questions.
He's had no trouble eating at all. He's eating his greens, crickets, dubia roaches and phoenix worms.
But since yesterday he wouldn't eat his greens and not as much insects as he used to.
I think he is going to shed which should explain his lack of appetite.
After his bath yesterday his skin turned a little white. (I will attach a pic)
Question nr 1:
Can anybody tell me if this actually is the start of his shedding progress?

Question nr 2:
Since the first day he goes into his hide around 5pm but the lights turn off at 10.
Is this still him getting used to his new enviroment?

Let me know if I left out any important information and thanks for your response in advance!

(First pic was after his bath, second pic was a week ago when he still had his bright color)
-Corné

Welcome to the forum :) you have a very cool looking dragon, is he a translucent? Ive circled in blue what looks like shed starting, circled in red are some stuck shed scales, u can remove those (always pry, never pull shed, if it doesn’t budge its not ready) his lights are on for too long, he needs a photo period of 9-12 hrs , if his lights come on at 7 they need to be turned of at 7 in the evening, can you go over ur lighting, diet, supplements n vitamins, pictures would help to, please no “coil”/compact uvb these are Bad,… you need a regular colorless basking bulb and a tubular uvb bulb to spread the uv throughout their enclosure.

Thank you for your response!
Yes, he is a translucent.
Thank you for pointing out the pieces of actual shed.
About the setup and diet:
The terrarium is 120x50x50 (cm's)
His light turns on at 10am and off at 10pm so he does get 12 hours of light. I use a Reptech 80W mercury vapor lamp. I've been to multiple reptile specialised stores and they all recommended this one. I did ask about a tubular UVB bulb but they were all pretty negative about it because it would be too much UVB?
Anyway, the temperatures:
Warm side: 35-37°C
Basking spot: 41°C
Cool side: 25-27°C

Humidity is during the day between 30 - 40% and at night it rises between 50 and 60%

The only greens he likes is andive (trying new greens and fruit every few days) which he gets in the morning along with some dubia roaches.
Later he gets some dusted crickets and non dusted phoenix worms.
2 hours after that I feed him some more dubia's and phoenix worms.
He eats between 50 and 70 insects per day.
I dust the crickets with calcium without d3 4x a week and 2x a week vitamins with d3.

About biggie:
He gets up within 30 minutes after the lights turn on.
He basks pretty much the entire day, till 4/5pm and then he decides its time for bed.
He is very alert and poops daily.
I always clean it right away and the poop itself looks good.
He is also very active and likes to climb up and down to sit closer to the lamp or further away from it.

After he goes into his hide he sometimes starts digging. He dug a hole for himself at the back of the hide so he can hide and feel safe I think.

That's pretty much it.

So his back isn't at the first 'stage' of shedding? His back does look even more white/grayish today, up to his tail.

Looking forward to hearing what you think!
