After loosing my beloved Murphy I could look at an empty tank anymore. Everyone meet CharLee, he is such a character lol. He weights 21grams and 8 inches long. He is 8 weeks old and just finished a shed today.

Welcome CharLee ---
I ended up doing some homework and went through a breeder I met in Tennessee. She overnighted him to me last week. He is eating lots of dubia and bsfl. I’m staying away from crickets with this one. I’ve only seen him eat 2 mouthfuls of mustard greens. He’s not interested in the greens at all. Ugh. He loves hornworms too. He’s not very fond of me yet but we are working on that. He has fallen asleep on me twice. That’s definitely something I miss is the little butt wiggles and snuggles Murphy gave me. Hopefully one day he will be comfortable to hang outside his enclosure.

Give him time to adjust - he will go thru relocation stress so work w/ him I recommend not taking him out of his tank for now - he needs to get used to you and his surroundings - patience is key here - hand feed him the BSFL so he gets used to your hand - put a piece of clothing or fleece blanket in his cave w/ you smell on it so he get used to it -- try other greens kale collards or turnip and use the BSFL on those salads to lure him to the salad bowl --- drop them in front of him into the bowl to get his attention

I do try to feed him. The only thing he will take from me is hornworms. I do put him in my hand and let him sit on me in his enclosure. He seems comfortable with that for the most part. I put a stuffed dragon in there with him that I put under my pillow a few nights ago. He climbs all over it lol. I also put a fleece piece of some old pj pants I had in his cave. I have collard and turnip also. Bell peppers, cucumbers, green beans, and blueberries but not interested in any of it yet. I still offer it everyday. I put some salad in his dubia bowl and I think he ate some that way. I’ll try the bsfl next. Thanks Sadie

This isn’t a clear picture but I think you can make it out for the most part. CharLee always lays infront of it on the very corner of his basking platform. Do you think I should cover it with some fleece or something? The basking spot temp is between 103 and 109 with an ambient temp of 90-91. If I turn the heat bulb down then the temp drops to much. Any suggestions? The platform is about 15 inches away from the light.

He lays on top of his platform sometimes now. Always gaping and very active. He seems very healthy. Good bowel movements, eats a ton of dubia and bsfl, not so keen on the greens. If I put a small pile on his basking platform sometimes he will pick at it but I’ve only seen him eat 2 pieces of mustard greens out of his bowl lol. I do put some greens in with his bugs but he is very careful to eat around them. Haha. I’ve had him for almost 4 weeks and he has done a complete shed and yesterday he started shedding his face and body again. When I first got him he was 8” and 22 grams. He currently is 10” and 43 grams. I think he is doing great! Thank you for asking. Any thoughts?

He's doing good it sounds like keep offering the salads - I would try variety see if you can find something that appeals to the taste buds
