My new baby.....

So I had adopted a juvenile beardie who just hated me, I tried for a few weeks and I just knew that she wasn't happy......before I got her I upgraded her terrarium and spared no expense. There is a local family that rehabs reptiles that are difficult to handle. They fell in love and she's much happier! I really wanted a baby that I could bond with.....and my local specialty pet store had babies. So I brought home Spike! He's tiny! Working with handling him as much as I can and I feed him in a much smaller tank due to his size.
Any advice for bonding?

I would ditch the red light. Use just a regular 100 to 150w basking light.

I am Worried that he won't be warm enough at night......

So get a Ceramic heater element. It looks like a lamp but only emits heat no light. I wouldny worry unless you think the temp is going to get below 65. My enclosure, same as you, stays around 70 at night.

No problem, I use one when I run my AC or in the colder months.
