That was a new one on me so I had to do a lil research but from several sources I have read that Bearded Dragons should never be fed fish due to the fact that they can not digest the bones therefor cause a risk of impaction and secondly fish pose a high risk of transmitting parasites to the dragon. I would probably watch your dragon closely and most definitely give your brother the Loser of the Year Award...smh

Edit: I would however agree with Germ that a one time occurrence is probably not a major deal.

I don't know, they can devour & digest a scorpion with no trouble, don't think they would have much trouble with a one inch fish's bones. No, I am not suggesting that this is good idea & that you should feed your Dragons scorpions or fish. Bones are a source of calcium & I do believe digestible. No worse than feeding mice, again not a good plan, but they will digest it.

Probably true..like I said when I saw that I had never thought about feeding fish to one so started a Google search and found that info as the most common answer available among bearded dragon info sites. I read through about a dozen. I could be wrong or they could be wrong...course if they are wrong then that would by proxy make me wrong anyway..lol
Probably not a great idea to feed something to any animal without doing a little research before hand either way..what's good for the goose isn't always good for the gander so to speak..lol

My reasoning is a BD is a predator in it's own right, will attack, devour & digest almost anything living smaller than it & moving, if it is hungry enough. Smaller lizards, including their own kind, are also part of BDs diet in the wild when opportunity & necessity dictates it, along with many other small creatures, many having bone skeletal frames.

Best bet is to stick to a recommended diet. :D

Wow! At least he didn't feed him a huge spider..there's a stupid video on YouTube of two people with a huge spider in their house so they sent their beardie after it to eat it..talk about STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Harming a pet to eat another possibly poisonous spider because you are too scared to kill it yourself is considered animal abuse in my eyes!
